Ok, HTC. You're almost there. Now, I know you're nervous, but that's only natural, this next step is a doozey. Ok, now all you have to do is add a keyboard to it. STOP! Put down the smaller screen, and pick up the keyboard. There you go, just ease it in there. NO! Leave the 3.5 mm jack alone, just put they keyboard on and walk away...there you go. Was that so hard?
I used to have to use an adapter on my old Nokia N80 and it was a huge pain in the neck. You couldn't leave it plugged into the phone because the phone wouldn't ring. You couldn't leave it permanently connected to the headphones because then they wouldn't plug into anything else. As a result it was just one more tiny cable that I had to keep track of all the time.
For those looking for a device strictly for reading, the new Kobo is a nice little option. It's small enough to slip into a pocket, can do more with a PDF than the competition, and at $129, it's $10 cheaper than both the Nook and Kindle WiFi.

is the headphone jack really such a big deal? whats wrong with having a little 4" adapter that's included with the phone?
