Peugeot HYmotion3 Compressor concept is high tech, low risk
An eco-friendly future might be right around the corner, and on Peugeot's HYmotion3 Compressor concept scooter you can take that corner with just the right balance of safety and power. At 29bhp, this new prototype gets 118 MPG thanks to its hybrid powertrain, and is quite stable with two wheels in front and one behind. In the event that you do lose control, you'll be protected by a BMW C1-esque roll cage. That's three techs borrowed from predecessors, plus the added benefit of three-wheel drive. Most advanced hybrid scooter yet? Maybe, but it's just a concept, so if you're looking to stand out like a sore but oh-so-energy-efficient thumb on the road, you're outta luck for the time being.

Hmm, boring ... an almost 1:1 copy of the BMW C1.
How would you lift that bike if it falls over, with the canopy in the way?
Understanding the aero benefits of canopies & fairings, but that canopy looks dangerous to me. As somebody else said, if you see an accident coming, the first thing is to ditch the bike, and I can't see that canopy helping.
Like it. Much like the C1, which was also cool, but with no need to strap the second passenger to the outside of the cabin (as with the C1), thereby exposing them to ultimate humiliation. These cabin scooters are perfect for the narrow urban environments of Europe.
At least I wouldn't worry about somebody stealing this thing.
Too bad you and your passenger have to spoon in order to fit in it.
i drive a BWM C1 every day to work and back, which makes about 40km a day. i love it. i can drive it during strongest rain and only become slightly wet on the elbows. i also drive it in winter, except when there is snow on the road.
the C1 is certainly not the most beautiful and the fastest motorcycle around, but it is the most practical one. it has 176ccm and i can drive on highways with about 120km/h. but in usual town-traffic it uses about 3.2 l/100km which is really low compared to other motorcycles. i had a honda shadow with 90ccm and it took nearly twice as much fuel.
i also love the concept of the HYmotion3 because it looks like a mixture of C1 and piaggio MP3. i was always interested in the MP3 because of the better stability with the 2 tires in front. now the HYmotion3 takes advantage of both technologies. the only thing that would really make it perfect was a similar safety-concept like the C1 had. you have to wear seat-belts, have a saftey-cage and a crumpy zone and don't need to wear a helmet.
i still hope that this is not only a concept but peugeot really thinks about bringing this guy into production. my C1 will not live forever (but hopefully still long enough), so i need a substitute sooner or later.
Doesn't it have a roll cage that encloses you completely? So, if you were wearing lap and shoulder belts wouldn't all of you stay safe inside the cage, inluding your legs, so there would be no danger of getting "pinned" outside the vehicle? On the freeways in here in Northern California, it takes an average speed of about 75 mph to stay with the flow of traffic, but sometimes you need to be able to spurt up to 90 mph in order to avoid certain situations. With a top speed of 90 mph or more (so that you could feel safe in freeway traffic here), seat and shoulder belts, and a price of $10k or less, I think you'd have a very hot seller here in the U.S. I certainly would get one for myself!
