We spotted this demo light gun on the floor of TGS2008. The cagey booth attendant wouldn't tell us if it will ever hit retail shelves, but the frankensteined (see the external batteries?) device was certainly working with a PS3 and projector here in Tokyo. We're all for some wireless light gun action, so bring it on, Light Gun Zero. That is, if you can. Oh, and if you can get rid of that unusual battery pack. Okay, thanks.

Wii wins the gaming industry... Its just amazing... The others are just modified old controllers.....
Samboini @ Oct 9th 2008 10:17AM
Not for me punk. I prefer my games drop dead gorgeous, HD and shock horror, with a 'normal' controller.
why not the LS2LS7? @ Oct 9th 2008 10:31AM
If a TV remote was a great shape for a gun, you'd see cops using guns shaped like that. The Wii controller is innovative, but at times, I'd rather have a more specialized, more precise controller.

I love Time Crisis. But I couldn't buy the most recent one because the gun is "handed". I usually shoot left handed and I sometimes switch hands during the game.
This one has the same problem.

This will look great duct taped to my pet shark snuggles.

i would LOVE to have a gun peripheric in my 360, i think its just dumb that there isn't one.
MyHeadisFed @ Oct 9th 2008 12:54PM
Yeah wtf happened to Area 52 and Time Crisis 4 for the 360?! I saw shit about them on kotaku years ago.

Can i kill Towel Heads with this?
Zorque @ Oct 9th 2008 12:31PM
You could try killing yourself instead and making the world a better place.

Well, considering it is a demo, the little nunchuk-like module in front should be modified so that it could be moved to either side of the gun.
All that said, I do wonder how it will interact with the screen. This would make for some fun FPS experiences, although there would be no way to constantly track your aim without killing batteries.
If this had an accelerometer, you could have HoD4 goodness.

Can someone tell me what is so special about this?
Jacob @ Oct 9th 2008 12:39PM
This is special because the light gun is powered off of a wired connection. This gives it the batteries for power, so you're not tethered anymore. Rock on!

It is, literally, just a modded GunCon 3. I enjoyed Time Crisis 4 on the PS3, but found it completely ridiculous that there was no way to buy an additional GunCon unit without buying the whole game all over again.
