With Wrath of the Lich King just around the corner, it's time to up your game and finally make it out of the low double digits with that Blood Elf mage you keep telling us about. Maybe
SteelSeries can help. The high-end gaming peripherals builder recently snapped up
Ideazon, and together they've built the official World of Warcraft MMO Gaming Mouse in close cooperation with Ideazon's BFF Blizzard. There are 15 programmable buttons scattered across the mouse, and a new in-game configuration utility to graphically assign the buttons just where they're needed. You can save different profiles for different purposes, and choose one of 16 million colors for those LEDs down the back. Just don't expect any fancy auto-levelling macros or even a recommended control scheme -- Blizzard still expects you to do the hard work of lining up your favorite actions and buying your gold on eBay. The laser mouse hits on November 13th to coincide with the Lich King launch, and should retail "under $100."
I'd would buy one, but scratch off that WoW logo.
I like it. The lighting scheme is pretty cool. But yeah, the WoW logo has got to go.
i was thinking the same thing, looks stupid.
I wouldn't mind if they just slapped a Blizzard Entertainment logo on there.
WoW is their only failing in my eyes. :P
you dont ask for logitech or microsoft to delete their logo off of their mouses...i think is fine, i mean came on, how often do you look at your mouse while *Actually* using your computer.
Its fine for me, i dont even play WoW it looks hot period.
@cub3
WoW doesn't make the mouse, SteelSeries does, so we absolutely CAN ask them to remove the wow logo.
Make a similiar mouse for EVE online with with afterburner buttons and I'm sold.
Finally a mouse made out of metal. My Razer DeathAdder layer of plastic or rubber is tearing apart itself.
wow cub, you're an idiot. world of warcraft is not a company, it's a game. so it would not in any way be like microsoft or logitech taking off their logo from their mouse. it would KIND OF be like if microsoft made a mouse that said "Windows Vista" on it, but way less nerdy than it saying world of warcraft.
Yeah I definately think the WoW logo has got to go, and the cord has to go to. I think they should look at Logitech G7's battery pack (cords suck!) It has potential. Cords Suck, and WoW logos just makes you look nerdy.
Nothing is as fast, reliable, and long lasting as a cord. Fuck wireless, I am sitting in front of the PC anyway, why do I need to eliminate the wire?
are they gonna make it compatible with the IMAC????????
I'm got a SteelSeries black ice mouspad...basically nice, extremely smooth piece of frosted glass on four rubber feet. It've had it over a year now and it still looks brand new. The other gaming mouspads I have used wore noticably within a year, and were pretty much through ask effective gaming pads within 2 ( they still work great for other systems, but the surfact just isnt as good for gaming).
Too bad SteelSeries makes really crap drivers. After the Ikari (which is also rather uncomfortable as it's slanted to the left and not the right), I don't think I'd give them another shot.
Thanks for comment in a product you never use before!!!
Definately want one of these. Looks cool & seems very handy functionality within WoW. Sweet stuff and pretty cheap. Order up!
Fail.
-Taylor
quick question why are both the comments above me low ranked?
wait a minute...am i gonna be low ranked now too?
Ali if you're going to plug your own product, at least do it subtly
"makes wasting your life that much easier" Haaaa!
Wasting my life is what i was thinking when i did quit playing Runscape 30 hours per week a a very high level...
Im a Blood Elf Mohawk.
I'm William Shatner, and I'm a shaman
This thing looks very Klingon-like.
looks alright, and i'd be down with the light scheme ... but whats up with that huge button on the side?
It looks like a hat switch to me.
@Dave
So you can switch your characters hat on the fly?
So, $99.95.
Yup:

(Well 99.99 but close enough :) )
Pretty cool, maybe should have more buttons to map the millions of thing you want to do with your right hand in WoW. (Sorry lefties)
But huh... umm, am I the only one who thinks LED's in mice suck? I mean, it looks like all it'd promote is a sweatier hand.
I dunno LEDs don't produce that much heat and glowing computer products in a dark room looks pretty cool so I am going to disagree with your statement that LEDs in mice suck.
If the LEDs are configurable enough to offer 16 million colors, I would hope that "off" is also an option.
What's up with the curlicues on that thumb rest?
Other than two aesthetic details (curlicues and logo) it doesn't look bad. Still, the day I spend $100 on a mouse...
that mouse looks badass, wow or not
Cool, that's an awesome mouse, I especially like the fact that you can change the color of the LED thing. I wonder if they have a wireless model?
First time I'd seen a mouse and gone "wow"! (no punn intended)
Looks ace, not sure about WoW though, more like a prop off the set of Stargate.
i like it. well, i like everything but that lame painted on logo. why not just etch it in the stainless if you're going all "klingon-y" as someone mentioned earlier. something i'd try to scratch off as soon as i harvested my money tree growing out back and bought one.
no, i'll still just use the mouse i have.
Agree with those above; would love one, but I'd scratch the WoW logo off and replace it with WAR!!!
Laptop: I hate cords. I hate proprietary batteries. I hate huge-ass dongles.
I might have to sit my Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 8000 on a charging station every night, but if the batteries start to die it's a 30 second replacement and there's no cord in my way or a dongle that I'll eventually break or bend my usb port on.
Someone make me a high-end gamer mouse to replace the 8000.
I freaking love it!! Bad Ass!!! you could probably get the wow logo off using the old cell phone carrier logo removal method (don't remember) but anyway, this would rule for COD4 and a few other s I can think of..assign each weapon to a button etc. you know the drill. This is pretty sweet!! I hope the track wheel is free-roll and not click style, makes great for "rolling" out some rapid fire grenades or sniper rounds for sure, whereas otherwise it's one at a time shots.
Would like a Warhamer Online one ;)
Def! It'd be nice to have one that says WAR instead of World Warcraft
That actually looks pretty good - at least 8 buttons from the looks of things (being someone who's used the MX500/510/518/700/900/G5SE design for the past 6 or 7 years, that's a must). It's probably the first non-Logitech mouse that I would consider using in a very very long time.
They claim 15 buttons. I can see 13, but they don't show the right side in any of the pics, so maybe there's two pinky buttons there?
Either way, this is exactly the sort of mouse I've been waiting for.
Looks kinda like my MX revolution....
It looks good. I hope they make Ikari 2 with same desing as this one.
A little paint stripper on the logo should do the job.
It looks awesome! Oh and that WoW logo would ware off in about a month anyway. I know what I'm getting for Christmas!
Obvioulsy, it will not have linux driver, so still stuck with 2 buttons and wheel >
Does it come in a left handed flavour?
Besides the fact that I don't actually play WoW, I'd get one.. Looks very stylish
I played with it at Blizzcon it was awkward to say the least, it's going to be $99 per their signs there. I really didn't like it, to move it you were pretty much forced to push a button it was annoying as all he||. Too many buttons, all 5 of my friends I was with agreed, but maybe someone will like it... maybe :/
