PS3 2.50 firmware update hits North America (PSP 5.00 too)

Good news, friends, you won't have to wait until tomorrow to get at that new Flash 9 support offered up by the PS3 2.50 update: the firmware is available now. Sony tossed in a few other assorted updates like power-saving options and voice chat enhancements, but we're sure you'll be too busy watching Doogie Howser, M.D. on Hulu to notice. Happy downloading!

Update: PSP 5.00 is available now too.

Flash 9 and powersaving are the big things for me. Both IMO should have gone in much sooner. 1st & 2nd revision PS3s (and 360s) are power hungry and I think it is irresponsible that it's taken two years to provide an sleep on inactivity function. Especially since Sony managed to make Folding@Home start after inactivity a long time ago so the functionality was always possible.

me too, my PS3 cant read / recognize any game discs after updating with 2.50. after i insert the game disc, the processing buble on the upper right appears longer than usual and then stopped with no indication what so ever. i try it again and again til i gave up. it still can reads other CD though, like audio CD, VCD, DVD or data CD (containing pics, vids or songs).
i've been searching the net over any forums to find other users that facing similar simptoms. please help me ... :(

I've just upgraded to 2.50, and the first thing I notice is that I can't browse the video-folders while watching a video, the playback stops when ps-button is pushed. This was possible before, anyone who can confirm this? Very frustrating to have the music stop while browsing for a new musicvideo for example.
