I thought maybe you misunderstood the article, since I'm not sure why you'd say you're "continually impressed" by Ben Heck when this has nothing to do with him.
Anyway this is Engadget after all, so assuming that someone actually read the article summary is sometimes presumptuous.
I don't think the author of this article bothered to watch the video either. Engadget have called it the Darthcast, but it's creator calls it the Dreamtrooper.
“An engineer explained to us that hundreds of ear impressions were gathered in the name of research, and while each one obviously boasted its own unique shape and size, one single characteristic remained uniform across the board: the entrance into the ear canal is not a perfect circle, it's an oval.”

you mean Ben Heck or this guy?
Why not both?
I meant Heck, but sure why not the author too?
@Fred:
The article isn't about Ben Heck though...
This is TRUE! o29, I am an utterly stupid person. Thanks for pointing out something I would have known had I not skimmed the article.
Your avatar is also a cat with a pineapple on its head. Not sure if you knew that or not.

I think this needs a thin plastic cover on the back for the CD.
I like Ben's work. He should be working for SONY and producing form factors that f*ckin make sense.
He said he's making a cover for it it just isn't complete yet. Or did you not watch the video?

I'm really impressed by all this too. Must weigh as much as a house though...
