Cowon's simply stylish O2 PMP gets hands-on love
We could tell by the press shots that Cowon wasn't taking the extravagant route with its O2 PMP, and these hands-on images really prove it. The touchscreen-heavy media player can digest enough formats to make your head spin, and considering that there aren't any front panel buttons to catch your attention, it's a good thing the screen quality was deemed "excellent." Thirsty for more? Head on down to the read link, and tell 'em Joe the Plumber sent ya.

Nope, I'm pretty sure it's a linux-based OS.

Obviously my comment was in reply to one that was deleted. Someone asked if it was running WinCE.
Torstar @ Oct 16th 2008 3:37PM

Deeznuts420 @ Oct 16th 2008 3:59PM
there wasnt any news that could make them link to the debate, so they got desperate.
Gnormie @ Oct 16th 2008 3:43PM
Still waiting on the S9, though not to say this doesn't look nice either :)
noyp @ Oct 18th 2008 9:31AM
Ya, I would get this if it were pocketable, and the s9 looks so shiny!
RAQ @ Oct 16th 2008 4:04PM
Could this be the replacement for my Creative Zen Vision M that I have been searching for or will my never ending quest continue?
ilh @ Oct 16th 2008 5:50PM
I don't think anything will be able to replace our ZVMs, almost 3 years now and still no answer.
Valicore @ Oct 17th 2008 1:05AM
I am totally agreeing. There seemed to be a period where there were realllyyyyy good PMPs with huge storage good battery life and portability. I guess since everyone has jumped on the electronic swiss army can-do-everything-but-not-very-well devices bandwagon, a really good just PMP is too much to ask for...

I'm waiting for someone to make a Flash parody of Super Mario Bros. Instead, it will be Super Joe Bros!!! To save businesses who make a ton of money from the evil tax bracket of Barrack Obama, Joe the plumber must clear crap from drain pipes and climb his way up through the White House toilet and save America! Partner with a 2nd player who gets to be John McCain! Comes with all cool tricks like 99 life koopa shell glitch!
"I am Barrack Obama and I approve this message because this game can't be beat. The realize surprise is when Joe makes it to the toilet and I poop on him!"
rudy @ Oct 16th 2008 4:45PM
The one drawback I see is that it can't do hi def mkv, if it could it would make choosing this over the archos 5 that much easier.
vladoman @ Oct 17th 2008 1:23AM
Well, Cowon has to work with the same available chips for embedded multimedia as everybody else....
Big Sam @ Oct 16th 2008 4:48PM
I'll finally replace my A2 when this comes to the US
Amol @ Oct 16th 2008 6:11PM
Egad, .mkv support! Now can I have my soft-sub playback?! =O
rudy @ Oct 16th 2008 6:44PM
My old A2 had softsubs support, it would do .srt not the .ass which is what most anime groups use.
It was real easy going from .ass to .srt
StalematE @ Oct 16th 2008 6:32PM
joe the plumber... i wonder if he knows bob the builder...
ScooterDe @ Oct 17th 2008 2:48AM
seems Joe is actually not a plumber. However, he is a registered Republican.
Trollapotamus @ Oct 16th 2008 7:52PM
If it was real easy going from .ass to .srt, can you tell us how easy it is to go from .ass to .mouth?
rudy @ Oct 16th 2008 8:09PM
I can send some links of girls going .ass to .mouth
bombkitten @ Jan 8th 2009 7:11PM
