Custom-made Metal Gear Solid 4 PS3 puts Sony and Konami's to shame

Konami and Sony's limited edition Metal Gear Solid 4 PS3 may have been enough to satisfy a few fans of the game willing to pay a premium for their console of choice but, for sheer excess, it has nothing on this custom-made system built by the folks at Morpheon Mods, which is now up for auction on eBay. Among the many details adorning this shiny creation is a laser-cut, stainless steel MGS4 marquee, a laser-etched image of Solid Snake, a carbon fiber Fox Hound logo on the rear, and 14 white micro LEDs to light everything up just right. They even got Hideo Kojima himself to autograph the console and, perhaps best of all, they wrapped everything around a fully backwards compatible 60GB PS3. Just don't expect any of that to come cheap, as bidding is already topping the $1,500 mark with six days left, though you do also get pretty impressive collection of Metal Gear swag with it, and 15% of the proceeds will go to help the Child's Play charity.

It's really a shame that 4, in my opinion, didn't turn out to be the greatest in the series. It's great, and groundbreaking, but I think 1 and 3 are much better as far as fun gameplay and replayability goes.
Have to agree, though I did like to see the story sort of wrapped up.

Yes, it looks pretty good. Too bad MGS4's time came and went. Nobody is talking about that game nowadays. Its all about CoD4, Halo 3 and Gears of War 2 and DEAD SPACE.
It's amazing how a different word (like... first) would have the exact opposite effect on his ranking...
I really should pull my game out of the wrapper. I bought it the first day and I still haven't even popped it in to watch a 2 hour intro, yet!
Money Well spent
I did the same thing with Mass Effect. Still haven't unwrapped it, but now I just figured I'd wait till the Fall Update to load the game to the HDD. I don't like starting games when I have so many to finish.
Anyone else notice that this very special PS3 is from the future!!! No wonder is rocks so much!

Sorry, but no. MGS4 is still a big-name game, and plenty of people are interested in it. There is a reason why the ridiculous "MGS4 360 port" rumors refuse to die: people still want to play it, and I'm sure a lot of MGO players wish they could play it on XBL. You need to get over yourself as well.

Back in my day, Game Informer didn't just hand out 10s like they do now.
Back in November 2000 they gave out the first 10 to Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2.
That was a big deal. They've been around since 1993, and in 7 years, nothing got a 10. In the past 8 years, they've given out countless 10s.
Game Informer's review staff has gone soft.
But, MGS4 was totally deserving of the 10.
I believe that, had I the money, I would buy that. D: It's doubtful that it would do much more than collect dust, though (at least for a while), as there aren't really any PS3 games I want, and I can't think of any PS2 games I want off the top of my head, either. :/

I'll trade my MGS4 for a MGS1 in an instant. Man MGS4 sucked, the gameplay is great but let me at least play some and dont interrupt me with too much story info.
MGS1 is still the best MGS, ok MGS3 is also a very good one.
But MGS4 is MGS2 with even more nagging characters, i wanted to walk in the game and slice up their faces with a machete.
Seriously pissed me off.

MGS4 is a story driven game, some people like it, some people don't.
Sure, plenty of people are still interested in playing it. That's why it continues to fly off the shelves at an alarming ra.....oh no, wait. It's sales plummeted after a month, out of the top 10 in a number of countries. I wish all the MSG lovers could put their bias aside and just look at the facts. It moves very few units nowadays and Wii Fit sells more.....get over yourselves already.
$16,100 as of Oct 23. Wow. That's so out of my price range it's lost its humor factor.
