Fuze turns up on AT&T's website, again

The Fuze, otherwise known as the HTC Touch Pro, first turned up briefly on AT&T's website more than a month ago only to be abruptly pulled down, but it's now finally made a reappearance, and it's apparently staying for good this time. As you might expect, however, there's not exactly anything new to be found, with AT&T's description of the device identical to the one it first put up, but if you had any doubts that the device was in fact headed to AT&T, and that it would indeed be called the Fuze, you can now safely put those to rest. Now, about that release date...

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES!
BYEBYE TOUCH!!!
Touch? What Touch? HTC Touch, Touch Diamod, Touch Pro, iTouch, uTouch, one of your senses? This has touch as well.
it's not gonna be a Touch Pro, this IS a touch pro...
I like phones like this. One time i had a phone that could sent pictures to my grandma. She liked that a lot.
woot woot!
Release Date: Nov. 4th.
Its been confirmed by several AT&T stores, and internal emails. The real question is if it sticks.
The leaked AT&T sheet said it was coming out on thursday
Will it still feature the front facing camera?
Seems unlikely since AT&T doesn't support video calling.
It's also unlikely since the AT&T logo is in the place where the front facing camera is supposed to be.
Il add the sheet was right about the Samsung i907 and all the other qwerty AT&T phones that came out earlier last week.
That explains why this was posted today probably.
i'm really starting to wonder if this would be a worth upgrade over the tilt...from 128 mb of ram to 288 and from a 400 mhz processor to 528.All the other features dont concern me too much, just wanting a phone w/ a bit more pep in the step
VGA screen (vs QVGA) and 5 row keyboard (vs 4)!
yeah yeah, i know...more ROM, accelerometer etc etc etc...i was really stoked to think that i'd be able to get a VGA screen. but my phone has been lagging a lot since my upgrade to WM6.1, i'll probably get the phone try it out for 30 days...if it isn't a big improvement in speed i'll just return it.
I'm not too familiar with the Tilt but I do use an HTC Touch Diamond. One thing I really like about the Diamond (and the Pro for that matter) is the 640x480 screen resolution. It may be a smaller screen than some of the other players out there but other than the HTC HD (which I don't believe is going to be released in the US) is has a better screen resolution. This resolution is really nice for viewing web content because most text is so clear that you don't always have to be zooming in on pages to read it. I'm also a big fan of the 3.2 megapixel camera as it really takes some clear pictures. Perhaps visit a Sprint store and checkout the Diamond as many of the features will be the same in the Pro.
i'd like to check out the diamond, but i'd have to go to the att store and check the fuze. opera browser is great, and i'm glad its going to be on there...but i'm just hoping they got the portrait/landscape issues fixed. if anyone has an htc phone w/ a slide out keyboard, i think you know what i mean. i hate it..
I'm assuming the accelerometer will handle the portrait/landscape selection.
"i'd like to check out the diamond"
Go to Best Buy, they carry an unlocked version you can play with to get a feel for Touch Flo 3D. Neat little phone... but I wouldn't pay their $700 asking price.
thats the only reason that i'd want to check out the diamond (touch flo 3d) but then again, ive seen so many walk throughs on it on various sites and youtube, it seems like its almost familiar to me now. the reason why i wouldn't wanna do it is its impossible to really compare the touch pro to the diamond other than that. they have similar specs, but the way it looks and feels w/ the slideout keyboard has to be tested w/ the real thing.
Looks pretty good. Definite plus having both touch AND a good old fashioned QWERTY keyboard to fall back on....
I'm just glad I got my post in before iEye comes in with his '"This sux cos iz not teh iPhone, iPhone rulez 4 evar! lol!!11" remarks.
Its amazed me that, even though he may not be here, you've still found a way to 'feed the troll'.
I...
...fair point.
What are the odds of having Android work on this puppy? It's got some pretty bad ass hardware but I haven't run Windows since like 1999 and don't plan on starting.
Now that Google has released Android's source code I'd say chances are pretty good that someone somewhere will be able to port it, especially a device as popular as the Touch Pro
Stopped in the at&t store today, they had an Epix and a Fuze/Touch pro I was able to play with. They weren't on display but the guy brought them out. He did not have pricing yet or offical release dates, said he'd have pricing on the epix by friday and on the Fuze early november.
The Fuze is much smaller than I had originally thought, I figured it would be very close to the demensions of my current tilt....it's actually very compact, very nice. It's still just about as thick as the tilt but since the other demsnsions are smaller it feels much more compact. If at&t truley does not get the Omnia then I'm getting the Fuze.
You say you saw the FUZE? Does it or does it not have the face forward camera?
I don't think it has a front camera but then again I wasn't really looking for it. I was more interested in the size comparison with my current device(tilt). This thing really is compact and much lighter. The touch flow was responsive even with the at&t bloatware on there, it also had a weird black and white theme. in the short time I had wiht it, I looked for a a way to add/delete the tabs in TF3D to turn off the at&t tab, didn't see it, at least not in the settings>today menu.
Well, crap, my phone gave out a couple weeks too soon I suppose. I just picked up the Pantech Matrix. It's no Fuze, but it's still a much better phone than I anticipated, a lot tougher than the Duo.
if you just picked it up then you have 30 days the fuze will be out by the 4th so definetly switch dont subject yourself to suffering with that pantech
I'm surprised Sansa's trademark lawyers aren't up in arms about this. After all both the Sansa Fuze and HTC Fuze would both play mp3's.
It's been removed already.
If you type Fuze in the search bar it gives you the same page though.... interesting
im thinking about switching from my 1g iphone to this, but unsure if its a good idea. I'm wondering what you guys think? I love my Iphone and can't go a day with out it, but i miss MMS, flash, and text forwarding.
Im getting this phone for sure to replace my 1st Gen iphone.
Talked to an AT&T rep at an authurized AT&t store today and they said the HTC Fuze will be out on Thrusday 10/23/08.
Prices are gonna be comparable to the Tilt.
:0)
Im selling my iPhone 1st Gen for this.
are you working on your new engadget avatar?
don't forget about other little bonuses over the iphone like real gps, bluetooth tethering, video recording, threaded sms
Like i said..lol im selling my FIRST gen iphone. No real GPS and if im not mistaken the Fuze has gps.
iPhone doesnt interest me any more...LOL
"and it's apparently staying for good this time."
Apparently not.
