Hacha's $15 PF02 player
Sorry slotMusic, you've already lost this month's low-price crown. Hacha just busted out a $15 DAP, the PF02. Specced with futuristic accouterments like... buttons, the 2GB player can handle MP3, WMA and OGG files with ease, and plugs in over the exciting new USB 2.0 standard. The future looks bright, folks.

NEVER $15 (£7.50) thats to cheap for me, no screen, crappy sound, tacky design, not for me
Yeah, there's a market for this... Just not me.
I want one of these...
Considering I have a generic 512mb mp3 player at this very moment....and i love the design actually.
And it's so small (L)

Anyone knows if theres a way to buy it online outside China ? (:
Not to rain on your parade, but these things (not this model in particular, but no name brands up to 1GB) tend to completely die after a few months.
@ ybd
Actually, i have my generic mp3 player since october - 2006 and i never had any problem with it (^^,)! turned out pretty well to be a $25 usd player with shipping to my country included (Argentina).
@ gad get
same as someone said, for $1000 you could buy a super laptop!!!
deppends on where you live, i don't live in YOUR country where technology is usually REALLY CHEAP.
just do the math, 1 USD = 3.25 ARS. Imagine 100 USD and there you go, 325 ARS. It's a good price, yes, over there. If you want the SAME mp3 player here, it's at least TWICE the original price, put the shipping + import taxes (around 50% of the FOB + shipping).
do the math, genius =D!

But, i'm considering getting a sandisk, i know it's going to be MUCH better that this one...
You can get any cheapo chinese mp3 player around 15-20$ and they are even smaller, some even have a screens
I hope ogg playback is the future, but I somehow doubt it.
This makes the shuffle look (even more) expensive (it is only fractionally larger/heavier and basically does exactly the same thing for less than a quarter of the price).
It already can play ogg
I know, but not much else can, I hope this is going to become more common in the future.
Or you could buy a REAL mp3 player with twice the storage, a screen, a logical easy to use button layout, a clip, equalizer, and FM radio, for $60. It's called a Sansa Clip. Did I mention it totally blows this thing away in the sound quality department?
Seriously, is there actually a market for this crap?
Or you could buy a FULL LAPTOP with WIFI and A 13 inch SCREEN and a DVD BURNER for ONLY $500!!!!
Why do people even bother making these comments? If you're in the market for this you're not considering a $60 player, so who cares about the Sansa Clip...
I wonder if USB drives happen to be the fastest tech to penetrate the market place.
Apart from storage increases, there are the many MP3 players out there and this one has an Ipod shuffle but cheaper design.
At least tech wise when it got to 2g being the "normal" all the rest below were just being thrown at people like an actually useful AOL CD. (surprised AOL did not do that)
Reminds me of a Vertu phone. The irony.

I think China makes these abysmal media players just to troll tech blog commenters.
iPod shuffle with Ogg support for what, 1/4th the price? Yet people still complain...
exactly. this thing isn't really that ridiculous.
Yay! My first blue :]
"Sorry slotMusic, you've already lost this month's low-price crown."
Sorry Paul Miller, you don't know what you're talking about. The slotMusic player was infinitely expandable with its, guess what, microSD slot. Comparing this to that is like comparing Apples to, uhm, Sandisks.
agreed, plus sandisk has a much better reliability record than a generic Chinese player.
vertu?
