Samsung CX-2233GW monitor impresses us with... nothing, actually

You think it's impossible to have more fun than we already do at Engadget, and then Samsung goes and releases some new displays. Case in point: the CX-2233GW. This 22-inch LCD monitor boasts 1,680 x 1,050 resolution, 300 cd/m2 brightness, 1,000:1 contrast ratio (capable of being boosted to 20,000:1), five-millisecond response time and an HDCP-compliant DVI port. Sure, we've seen it all before in the SyncMaster line... perhaps we can count on major dip in the price? Stranger things have happened. The display will be available (soon!) in Korea for something under €200 (about $265).

and queue the comments about a particular part of this photo...
nice pears
A blurry shrubbery!
can u blame em? ap-pear-ances are important.
The X-Ray monitor needs re-calibration.
i believe i meant cue
I'll take the girl (as long as she isnt underage) and not the tv. white isnt my favorite color.
@lowdef: maybe there will be so many responses we will actually need to queue them also.
Is my monitor calibration off or does her leg look like it's decaying. Zombies legs ahh!
I know my comment will be off topic but I have no idea who else I could ask.. :p
I am looking into buying a monitor that is between 22-26"..
My friend told my if I want it for games, 2 ms response time is a must have..
So far the best screen I have found is the following Asus;
http://www.asus.com/products.aspx?l1=10&l2=89&l3=550&l4=0&model=2220&modelmenu=1
Is there anyone here who has used Asus screens and can tell me how well they do or if they suck?
And is there any particular company I should look at?
http://prad.de/en/index.html for your general and specific info on LCD's
I could recommend to set dual (2) Dell Refurbished E228WFP 22-inch 199$ each. Fast, good comments from users and cheap. Call to ask for free delivery.

I would not recommend the Dell E228WFP, it is a TN screen. Cheap poor quality picture
TN screen? Yea um how bout you look up what that means, all it is is a type of LCD tech., how does that make it shittier?

she's cute.
Her legs look like she's been a victim of domestic abuse. Or just really bad choice of hoses.
I thought garden hoses and fire hoses were my only option for beating. What are the better options?
you gotta go lead pipes. ill never go back to hoses thats for sure.
I swear, that product photo is horrid all around. Not to mention the product itself.
4:3 picture of pears stretched to fit 16:9 screen = Really?
300 cd/m2 brightness = Seriously?
$265 = What?
Crackhead legs = Eww?
Those legs have panties on them, and you should have seen the picture on it before they photoshopped in the pears, they hired 4chan by mistake you see :P
Maybe those are just wide pears...
@ Engadet: Could you please add a new tag: Sexy Korean ad.
Every LG and Samsung pictures of recent new gadget could apply.
I may be weird but i find those yellow pears very feminine. I also enjoy the fresh look of the girl.
I'm not exactly sure where to start with this one, but I would first suggest a nice walk outdoors. Half of the planet is female, for your, easily-satisfied appetite.
I would suggest that he try the produce department to satisfy his appetite.
I can see half a mellon to the left of the screen...
Look at that you just touch the screen lightly on the top left corner and man you can see pears for days... Incredible Thanks Samsung
streached pairs and purple bruised legs? Possibly the worst advert ever i agree.
The photographer and the art director responsible for this should be fired. She has nice features, but the lighting is horrible, the image on the monitor is horrible, and her wardrobe makes he legs look 70 years old.
In some cultures menopause is hott
@Riddle: The menopause is hot in most cultures, I believe. It's all part of going through the "change". Like a caterpillar changing into a butterfly, but the ugliness coefficient is reversed.
Yes, the pears on screen look stretched out. And white? I want the borders of my screen to be as invisible as possible. If someone really wants to impress me, I would love to see a borderless screen. Or at least an ultra narrow border of 5mm or less.
This monitor is about the same as a dozen other Samsung LCDs and other LCDs. Why is it news worthy in white? That is directed at Samsung.
I thought we abandoned white monitors the same way we dropped beige computer cases like hot bricks?
I mean who wants a white monitor sat on their desk, especially given the fact in a few years it will be beige.
I feel compelled to say Beige (and white) rules, regardless of today's 'whims'.

Black:
1) dust far more easily seen
2) positively cooks if a bit of sun hits it
3) absorbs too much light at night from desklamp; we can't have relative darkness
Frankly I see no advantage to black / graphite grey / fake silver-based machines.
Someone mentioned a TN screen above? TN is just a technology for active matrix displays, how does that make it inferior? O.o Do your hw .
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liquid_crystal_display#Active_matrix_technologies
@ProfessorKaos: TN screens tend to have worse viewing angles and poor colour reproduction compared to S-IPS panels. Their benefit is fast response times and cheapness which is why most consumer PC screens use them.
