Parrot intros Specchio WiFi photo frame with NFC
We were hoping WiFi photo frames would be a bit more ubiquitous by now, but Parrot's not waiting around on one lonely wireless standard -- it's introducing the Specchio frame with WiFi and Bluetooth NFC for getting photos to the screen. We've seen NFC in a few mass-transit trials here and there, but only Parrot seems to be really pushing the data aspects of the tech, so it'll be interesting to see how it holds up -- the idea is that you'll take pictures on your phone and simply hold it against the frame to transfer them. Nifty -- just like the frame display itself, which looks like a metallic mirror when switched off. Hm, this might be the first digital photo frame we're actually interested in -- too bad it'll cost $500 when it goes on sale next month.
P.S.- Parrot, have some dignity with these press images, will you? The iPhone has an ass-useless Bluetooth stack and you know it.

Read link isn't right
You got a problem being taken to a spam site? Engadget makes $.04 for every 10 people that click that link. Come on. They need to pay the bills too.
Fixed, thanks for the catch.
much better link, thanks engadget!
transluscent arm with iphone not included
& the iphone has a 2mp camera to boot. Who'd really want to look @ those pictures again? Innov8, well that's another story.
Moreover if you took some pictures with the iPhone crappy camera you are not going to have much worth showing in a frame anyway, no matter how good it is.
'Specchio' means mirror in Italian if anybody is interested to know (probably not:)

It could be over WiFi?
I didn't know that you can do file transfers to other devices through iPhone's Wi-Fi!! Some people might be interested, enlighten them.
how useless is ass anyway?
You can do wifi file sharing on the iPhone with "Airsharing". It's a free app found in the AppStore. Doesn't work with bluetooth though.
I find mine quite useful.
For sitting on..
>_>
That must be the "CiPhone 3G" clone available at various online retailers... as anyone with an iPhone would rather look at the picture in its crisp display...
Too bad the pics take 33% longer to load compare to a G1 google phone.
I didnt know 480x320 was considered crisp. *druels at Touch HD and X1*
why must you remind me of my iphone being ALMOST GOOD!!! T_T
jeezzz cant us iphone users atleast get A2DP ATLEAST?!?!
..stupid cords

OMFG i know! There are TWO things i hate going on here:
My iPhone's bluetooth fails,
and most people (marketing people and their audience) are too ignorant to even know.
Please god bring me Android on AT&T with the correct 3G frequency!

useless ?
Iphone bluetooth, yes.
ass, no.
... what?
iPhone bluetooth is good for nothing but BT headsets.
$500????????????
WTF would I want to display PHONESNAPS on a $500 frame? Frame looks nice, not $500 nice though.
With the iPhone 3G you can send a picture by email to the frame, thus explaining the press photo.....
$500?? You gotta be kidding me.
Looks like it's got RSS support to any RSS photo feed, though, which is refreshing. Usually these things only integrate with a fixed list of services and don't allow you to enter your own RSS feeds.
Still, $500??? Geez.
Where's the Wireless Pixxa from Ality!?? That's the digiframe I really want...can't find it on sale anywhere (other than Australia).
