We knew good and well
it was on the way, but now we're bubbling over with excitement. The forthcoming Model S -- an all-electric, five passenger sports sedan that will ride on a platform developed entirely by Tesla -- has apparently been revealed. Of course, there's still a real possibility that the image you're drooling on above isn't a finalized look, but
Road & Track has a pretty good record to fall back on. We're also hearing that the 2010-bound whip will get around 240 miles per charge while still doing the zero to sixty in under six ticks, and the $60,000 base price just makes it all the more appealing. For those with a thing for rear bumpers, check out Autoblog's link below for a sneak peek of the fanny.

but it can get you to the airport........
Where I'll board a plane, fly to my destination and be forced to rent a car, something which I could have brought with me.
I know 60K is still expensive but I bet in the long run you make out because of the cost of gas
Yep, just 20 short years of driving and you're making money with every mile.
That's a pretty fast looking car considering no one is even driving it!
another reason why i think its a rendering and not a photo....
Rest in peace Nikola Tesla.
hooray, yet another harmful substance as well as fossil fuel pollution! Let's all choke to death together with our lovely cars! :P
what substance?
I...I think I just came.
This car is as real as the other pictures you look at during these moments.
since there will be no engine noise, maybe they could put a large spark gap in there someplace with a toroid on top.
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZap!!!! ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZap!!!
hooooly shit i wish it was cheaper id be so down
my e39 m5 will kick its ass and sound a lot better, as well
Let me guess, you're either really short, or something else is...
@knowsbetter
...or, perhaps he simply enjoys driving superbly built automobiles? The BMW M5 is an incredibly beautiful machine...
beautiful in an aesthetic sense.
beautiful in an environmental sense.
less expensive than a BMW M5 or an audi RS4, which will inevitably be the 2 cars it competes against.
...just that you get no street cred for revving a silent electric motor.
The main photo is just a rendering. The rear is a real photo, but not the main pic above.
Since the research and design center for the sedan recently closed and the company is not doing well the release of the sedan is waaaaaaaaaaaaay up in the air.

And yes this is an illustration and is not what the sedan actually would look like.
looks great... but, at $60k, it's still useless to me. :(
I know they're not sexy and all, but what, cars don't need bumpers anymore? A shopping cart rolls into that thing and you'll need to replace the entire nose piece.
If the Model S represents only 80% of the car on the pic, then it still looks excellent!
