Aliph brings Babbling Blue / Rambling Rosé Jawbones to Best Buy
Not sure what exactly was so wrong with Blah Blah Black, Silver Tongue and Goldy Lips, but for those not really turned on by any of the aforementioned hues, you should probably set your navigator to the nearest Best Buy. Aliph has just introduced two new colors in the Jawbone family -- Babbling Blue and Rambling Rosé (shown after the break) -- which will be offered up exclusively at Best Buy Mobile. Same heralded Bluetooth headset, same $139.99 price tag -- just with two new tints.

I think I will just stick to the one I got for free in my box of cereal...

Will this work on the Cox network?
Testies, Testies, 1, 2... 3? @ Oct 27th 2008 12:13PM
@iEye: JawBONE, not clams moron...
phanbouy @ Oct 27th 2008 12:36PM
Will this work on the Cox?
Richard @ Oct 27th 2008 3:14PM
Doesn't fit in my ear too well, so I doubt it will work there. Besides, that thing doesn't listen and has a mind of its own anyway. ;-}

Wootie Flakes?
Adam @ Oct 27th 2008 9:56AM
Still can't believe BB is selling these for $139 when you can buy them from Jawbone's site for $129. The fact that you can buy the Jawbone II for under $100 online makes me question people's buying intelligence.
davidw @ Oct 27th 2008 1:03PM
Almost anything is cheaper online...People buy stuff at stores so they can get their hands on it right away instead of waiting a week. Plus if you have questions there are people around to ask them to.
Joe K. @ Oct 27th 2008 1:47PM
So the extra $40+ is so that a moron in a blue polo can tell me whats best? You're right we shouldn't question the buying intelligence of John Q. Public.
Jack Storm @ Oct 27th 2008 1:59PM
@ Joe K.
Its only a $10 difference not 40, the sub $100 one he said is a different model. You misunderstood. Hmm wonder what your I.Q is, ooh the irony.
Alex Padilla @ Oct 27th 2008 10:04AM
Unnecessarily large profit margins FTL!
Apple Fanboy @ Oct 27th 2008 10:30AM
Wow, you know their profit margins?!? I guess you work for the company's accounting dept?
Testies, Testies, 1, 2... 3? @ Oct 27th 2008 12:15PM
He got laid off cause they don't need anyone to cook the books...
Jack Storm @ Oct 27th 2008 2:01PM
Jealous they make more money than you?
BB @ Oct 27th 2008 10:23AM
It doesn't look like a bluetooth headset to me, cliche design.
BB @ Oct 27th 2008 10:24AM
Are there really no other great news to report, huh Engadget writer?
phanbouy @ Oct 27th 2008 12:37PM
you could always ask yourself that.
Mike @ Oct 27th 2008 10:40AM
In-store, the blue one is called the "Denim". Don't know where "Babbling Blue" came from.
Jeff @ Oct 27th 2008 1:03PM
That's engadget editors being sarcastic, didn't you read the whole thing "bah bah black" doesn't have to be exact. denim is blue, close enough.
theguy @ Oct 27th 2008 3:38PM
its more like the engadget editors being amazing lol
Vidikron @ Oct 27th 2008 11:16AM
Damn... those are fugly.
doug @ Oct 27th 2008 11:37AM
I gave one of these jawbones away. i guess they have great sound but they are the worst thing to wear. one of the worst purchases I ever made.
Cranius Lupus @ Oct 27th 2008 11:40AM
Love my original Jawbone. Wearing it now, and half the time I forget I have it on, until i get a phonecall.
Wonder of the two's are as good
Golferal @ Oct 27th 2008 3:47PM
The clear answer is no. I have both models and just can't stand the crappy sound quality of the J2, so it just sits on my desk lookin' all purty. I still can't believe they followed up the original with such an inferior device. And although the dork factor is lower, it's not worth the trade off in performance.
UnixSystemsEngineer @ Oct 27th 2008 12:55PM
Jawbones are the best headsets for datacenter use. The noise cancelling is amazing. Without one you can't hold a conversation at all.
digitallysick @ Oct 27th 2008 1:42PM
I had an aliph, they just suck, the charger fails, and the ear peices just aren't comfortable. I finally bought a blue ant headset with the same technology for about 60.00, its wonderful
SlyTheBoss @ Oct 27th 2008 2:28PM
Too bad the new Jawbone sucks. I much preferred my old one (which I lost :-( ). I'm having troubling making the new one keep in contact with my cheek, something that never happened with the old one.
Richard @ Oct 27th 2008 3:17PM
I think - having used both Jawbone models - that the only to make the damn things work well is to have a custom earpiece made for it. Of course that increases the total cost of the thing another $80 or so.
C'mon Sound iD. Get that 300 out here already!
Golferal @ Oct 27th 2008 3:57PM
Try using a Jabra eargel. It makes it much more comfortable, compact, and it actually works better!

Maybe instead of worrying about colors, they could add some actual features, like the ability to connect to more than one device. Y'know, since they're charging so much.
rzero15 @ Oct 27th 2008 9:15PM
Aaaaahhhh I am glad my little brother works @ the Best Buy service center!!! EMPLOYEE DISCOUNTS YEAH!
L2H @ Nov 3rd 2008 6:52PM
I have a JB1, I like it except for the earloop which has given out after just more than a year.
The problem? Replacements are no longer available, and they don't plan to make more. If I'd had it less than a year they'd send me one on warentee.
Still, you're supposed to make the replacements for at least a reasonably expected lifespan. Not quit just because you have a new model.
I won't be buy anything else from Aliph, ok product craptastic customer relations.
