I would hardly call Taiwan 1st world - Taipei and Taizhung maybe but all the rest is 2nd world at best. Really quite poor as soon as you leave the cities and salaries are also not very high. Beautiful country though
you might not agree with me but its the fact...taiwan is indeed 1st world developed "region" in the world. :) While the suburb in Taiwan might be poor but alot of 1st world countries also have poor regions. One of the economic miracles in Taiwan is that you rarely see homeless ppl on the street (as least not as many as in New York where I currently live).
Im just trying to differentiate Taiwan from China. Im tired of ppl assuming "chinese" are all from China.
Also, Singapore is a developed country w/ largely ethnic Chinese.
