Shinoda's 125-inch curved plasma to hit assembly lines by May, all 7.9-pounds of it
As showcase displays push to 150-inches and beyond, we won't blame you if you missed Shinoda's surprisingly lightweight (7.9-pounds) 125-inch curved plasma when it was first unveiled back in May. Especially since it manages a rather paltry 960 x 360 pixels from that trio of joined, 1-meter wide (1-mm thin!) flexible plasma panels. The fact that it's going production in April/May of next year is certainly notable, even if the first applications will be limited to digital signage. Baby steps, right?

Baby Steps indeed. =)
960 x 360
On 125 inches that will look like crap! Zoomed crap.
If it's cheap then this isn't too bad at all, especially for digital signage. It's not exactly the kind of thing you'd want in your living room though.
Yep, it would be useful for signs and nothing else. I've got a 126" screen in my living room and even 1080p is almost-not-enough.
My thoughts while reading.
"Shinoda's 125-inch curved plasma to hit assembly lines by May, all 7.9-pounds of it"
I want one!!
"Especially since it manages a rather paltry 960 x 360 pixels"
LOL, So very very sad.
is it really curved or is it three panels together at slightly different angels?
Yeah, it looks like 3 panels, you can see a line through the flower. WTF?
Meh!
Sounded good... till i saw the resolution...
For a screen that size, that's not gonna look great up close...
C'mon guys, show a little love! Plasma from a 1mm thin panel? That's a whack load of technological awesome right there.
I wouldnt call 960 x 360 resolution baby steps. It's more like a baby sliding along on its arse if you ask me.
Time to whip out the DOS games!
And the purpose of this screen? advertisement screen on a side of a highway?
This could be used to play GTA IV on PS3 though, the resolution is almost the same in both. :D
so wait wait wait wait..... we went from curved tv's that came towards us to flat tv's that are awesome just so that we can go all the way back around to curved tv's again, only inverted??? I can understand it for video game purposes but idk...
WAKE UP PEOPLE!! This is not meant to be used as an HDTV in your living room. It's meant to be a sign or something like that in sports areas or office buildings or whatever. Considering that type of functionality and the fact that you'll be rather far away from it, that resolution is just fine. And besides a 7.9 lb, 1mm thick plasma is AMAZING!! Just wait until we get full HD 65" 1mm thick Plasmas in our homes. That's give OLED a run for it's money.
