"Think US is so innocent? Ever hear of a little country in South America called Guatemala? CIA is solely responsible for a decades long war in that country killing hundreds of thousands, if not millions of people all for the sake of US business cooperate greed. Eisenhower was president at the time, look it up. CIA also did a lot to piss off Iran and other Arab nations, like throwing over an elected leader in Iran and putting a ruthless dictator in power, which everyone hated, simply because he promised to de-nationalize the Oil company that Britain had investment in.
If you SERIOUSLY wonder WHY so many Arabs think capitalism is 'EVIL' and think they are unjustified for their hate towards us, then I think it's time to get off engadget and go read a book."
89 percent of adoptions from Guatemala comes from the United States. And buddy when you have a dictator that has his own people in his country walk on over him it's time for a new dictator :S
idk if anyone saw this, but Chuck had a pretty funny reference to the Zune too...i couldn't really tell if it was product placement for apple or for microsoft though haha
I'm pretty damn American but since I work for a German company and our internet traffic gets routed through German proxies, I'm apparently not American enough to watch the video.....damnit!
More confirmation that the Zune "me too" player from Microsoft is an industry joke! LOL
It's best to ditch that Zune on eBay and get yourself the best player in the market. iPod Touch, or for that matter any of the iPods would do. Carrying a Zune around would be an embarrassment.
You meant to stop the war? Right? I don't remember any history of the US Invading peaceful nations? Globalization you would have to blame the Dems on that.
"Manifest Destiny" dealt more with spreading North American presence during the mid-19th century. The Democratic party was merely an idea back then and a LOT has changed since. (ya know...when Andrew Jackson started it and took on the political cartoon's satire of calling him a donkey/ass because he was for the commoner) The Republicans actually took over this concept in the early 20th century. ...so, it's not a partisan issue. Unfortunately, dividing our nation has become modern politicians' most recent hobby. Believe it or not, nothing gets done because only one party says so.
Hawaii, Puerto Rico and Alaska were all stolen from their native inhabitants. The US is built on invading peaceful nations... (remember those disgruntled NATIVE Americans? ...oh, yeah...we almost killed them off. ...oops?) Not to mention that whole mishap with the slaves from Africa. Oops, again? Hey, who's really keeping track, right?
Even in today's world, we inhabit many areas under the claim of peace-keeping. When I was in the military, I saw a lot of unhappy countries where we staked a claim and erected a base. ...just saying that there's a lot more to history than what we want to know.
@PynkFlloydd --While all parties conspired to steal the Indians (and Mexicans) land, you gotta hand it to Founding Democrat Andy Jackson for single-handedly causing the destruction of the Cherokee. Despite the fact that the Supreme Court heard the Cherokee case and decided in their favor, Democratic President Jackson said, "John Marshall has rendered his decision; now let him enforce it." He didn't hesitate to brutally relocate all native Americans living East of the Mississippi. Despite this, most native Americans today are blissfully unaware of these facts, just as most African-Americans believe to this day that Abraham Lincoln was a Democrat, and that the majority of Republicans opposed the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Partisanism trumps facts every time!
most of you guys are too uptight... just laugh dammit... and i dont mean laugh regrettably then make comments on the state of the world. sometimes all we have is laughter to keep our spirits up. there are two sides to these types of comedy bits of course--marketing and comedy. just see the comedy side and forget all that other mumbo jumbo geez
HEHEHEHEH, LOL. I have always thought Conan was funny. Sorry to you guys outside the US, I agree about anyone blocking IP ranges needs to not begin with www. There must be some legal or moral reason it was done. Anyway, I like Conan, I do not own anything apple, my PMP is a Cowan A3 and I have no plans on ever owning a zune or an ipod.
They did this hoping engadget users would go all geeky and talk about proxies and stuff as opposed to woeful "discussions" on politics. Almost got away with it.
But actually that's next I expect, regional censoring Which, come to think of it, might actually work out OK since they can remove the verbal censoring in civilised areas and give the bible belt the bleeped stuff. (I'm only jesting though, I'm fundamentally against censorship)
Oh for those that didn't notice, I hear youtube introduced it too now, country censoring of commercial material that sony put up, americans can't see some of it.
I live in Venezuela. And this is America Too. What kind of Stupid Remark is "....And only to Real Americans" What makes you think That Any Stupid joke from O´brien is so Patriotic that only can be seen For Americans.
Now that we've thrown 'em off the trail, use the form below to get in touch with the people at Engadget. Please fill in all of the required fields because they're required.
