Really??? lets think for a bit... maybe (admit it) it is a mac with a picture of the windows 7 logo on the bottom... being viewed on full screen... just a thought... but Go Apple
Macs don't need windows to play games. Native games, WINE, Crossover Games, etc. OSX sucks for a lot of reasons, but application compat isn't one that's fair.
I'm going to get rid of Windows and play Far Cry 2, Dead Space, Fallout 3, etc. on a Mac or on a Ubuntu install.
At a staggering 2 fps. And that's if i manage to overcome the hurdle of installing it.
Get real. They cant even get Warcraft 3 working at anything but the lowest detail settings. For any real gamer, that is not an option. And considering Microsoft is already moving on to DX11, it will never be.
Those options are good for applications. They make no sense for modern games. And i can only play Half Life 2 so many times.

I have a GMA950 (old MacBook) and i get 60fps+ on Warcraft 3 on both my Warcraft in bootcamp on Win7 and my Warcraft for Mac at all settings MAXXED. So STFU, since the new ones got Nvidia 9400s....
Oh btw DX11, also canceled until the windows os AFTER windows 7, which is approx 2010, so good luck!

I'm not sure why some mac users get so defensive over gaming. It's your weakness, your kryptonite so to speak. Kudos that Apple finally decided to include a video card worthy of the price, but the OS[X] is still a limiting factor. Gaming is not Apple's focus in their laptop or dear god, their desktop line. I still kinda choke at a $3000 machine with a "8800 GT" max graphical option.
Apple's laptops are well regarded, as is their technical support. I'm not sure why you have to oppose the bleeding obvious fact that Macs are not gaming rigs. It's not the worst weakness in the world to have.
Achill3s is right.. I have a MacBook pro with Geforce 8600M chip (yes, the one that fails), and have had ZERO issues running Warcraft 3 @ 1920x1200 (EVERYTHING MAXED). I don't know what you're smoking - you may want to check the |.
The fact that Blizzard still supports the latest Mac OS' means a lot. Hell, all their games have OSX Installers that they released 10 years AFTER the game first went on sale as Win 95/Mac OS.. Starcraft with Leopard 10.5 is an exception (doesn't load with the latest pack), but this was a few months ago, and I'm sure they are looking at a fix.
I'm putting it this way: They're claiming W7 will have lower spec reqs than Vista, and I'm taking that with a grain of salt until it's verified. IT would be a fantastic thing for a major OS release to underspec it's predessessor.

Definitely needs more touchscreen. What's up, Apple? Do you need someone to hold your hand through the process and show you how to do it?

Crossover in OS X + TF2 = me, stabbing my eyes out in frustration.
Native is the way to go, screwing around with WINE/emulation is crap.

is this that big of deal? I mean, shouldn't you be able to install Windows 7 on pretty much anything with good enough specs?
Decoy @ Nov 3rd 2008 6:42PM
Apparently W7 will run happily on a 1GHz Atom netbook with 512 ram (which is what Steve Sinofsky is demoing it on)
Heavy on the 'apparently'.
James @ Nov 3rd 2008 6:55PM
Yeah i really dont see what's so amazing about this. Microsoft doesnt limit their OS to a single manufacturers hardware.
Andrew @ Nov 3rd 2008 7:36PM
I didn't think it was all that big of a deal either or else I would have sent in a pic of my macbook doing the same, haha.

You have effectively managed to confuse me:
Are you being clever by saying "sacrilicious!" as in "sweet!" (albeit ironically artificial)
Or did you mean "sacrilegious" as in "utterly wrong, wrong, wrong!"?
Is the sacrasm missing or there...or both...or...?
