"I know huh why doesn't apple allow os x to run on any hardware. why is it apple only. At least windows 7 can run on different type of hardware INCLUDING MAC BOOK PRO and not just pc's."
Its not apple only (psystar?? iDeneb?? etc..) oh and btw, if microsoft could stop windows running on MACs only, they would! But they cant, cuz of the intel processors on the macs. Its not apple's fault that windows works on macs! Also, the only thing that prevents OS x from working on pcs properly are they drivers. Why would apple make non-apple product drivers? Thats the job of the computer manufacturing company :)
What's amazing is, 7 Ultimate has camouflaged it's way on to a MacBook so the user won't realize what's going on, and then when it loads up all the way all will be revealed when it starts mocking said user, making the news and then blue-screening.
A little like what's happening outside Apple Retail Stores at the moment...
Is it a bad thing that I have it installed on my last gen white MacBook? I can tel ya though, for a machine thats only $999 ($1,199 before price cut), it runs 7 like a champ.
It seems you contradict yourself in the very same comment. You're right in saying that apple doesn't focus on gaming and they're choice on video cards reflects that. But right after that you say that you choke at a $3000 with a 8800GT max graphic card. You see, that's only the case if you're looking at gaming. But the mac pro isn't for gamers, it's for professionals.
I GOT EVERYTHING EXCEPT THE WIRELESS TO WORK FINE, I WAS ABLE TO CONNECT TO AIM AND GOOGLE IN IE BUT WHEN I OPENED UP ANY OTHER SITE FIREFOX OR INTERNET EXPLORER WITH MY WIRELESS CONNECTION. I CHECKED IN CMD AND PINGED ACOUPLE SITES, THOSE WENT THRU. ANY IDEAS???? ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPERICIATED.
I can never get over how stupid mac fans are. Bootcamp is not some magical piece of software that tricks windows into thinking it's being run on a pc. Windows runs on a macbook pro because it IS A PC.... Bootcamp is simply a bootloader and a set of windows drivers. who.. magic.!
After os9, apple ditched there own proprietary hardware architecture for the industry standard x86/x64 instruction sets. On top of that.... they ripped off a PC OPERATING SYSTEM (free bsd) and packaged there own distribution. In the exact same way that red hat and unbuntu have there own linux distributions. The only reason you can install os/x on say.. a dell pc, is because apple has added a hardware check to there operating system to ensure that it only runs on there hardware. Damn, even drivers arn't an issue because you can compile them yourself from source.
I guess this is why I find the "i'm a mac/i'm a pc" commerials so funny... because it should be, "i'm a pc/i'm a pc". Marketing goes a long way in this world and the whole mac/pc is the perfect example of how lemmings can be lead off a cliff....
Oh and by the way, before any of you try calling me a "fanboy"... you should be aware that my primary pc is a MacBook Pro running Vista 64(soon to be Windows 7 once i find the time to back up/install). I run this configuration because when a company such as apple only has to support 5 or 6 hardware configurations across there entire product line, yes they are more likely to fix bugs they come across in there drivers then dell or hp is (who support many many many many more hardware configurations).
End result... Apple makes great Windows Machines, and os/x is a slow unresponsive, unsupported piece of steaming crap. You os/x fans may enjoy the click and wait, click and wait.. but us windows users expect things to happen when we click on them.

Hey! A 2006 Apple-basher called. He want's his arguments back!

Engadget, we know, the screen is reflective. get...over...it
I think engadget is making up for all the Apple fanboyism infecting their recent posts. DO NOT PITY THEM.
you mean.. the screen AND bezel =P
BLASPHEMY!
(of the best kind)
Heh.
It's like using a PSP to emulate SNES games. Except SNES games are actually good.
we get it, you hate glossy screens, move on.
To matte screens?
Since a Windows OS is installed, that makes the MacBook just another IBM compatible personal computer or what is COMMONLY known as the PC.
it's an improvement thats for sure.

Calling Windows 7 (or, Vista.1) a "next generation" operating system is a bit of a stretch.
