Dell's M109S pocket projector gets itself a ho-hum review
The portable Dell M109S projector which we saw a while back has just been reviewed over at Laptop Magazine. Similar to other pocket projectors, the verdict seems to be that the quality is nothing to explode in excitement over, but is impressive for such a small machine. Laptop praised the projector's LED as one of the "brightest in its class," though they seem disappointed with its non-standard native resolution of 858 x 600. They also laud the simplistic design of the projector, but found the buttons on the box "hard to use," and complained about the lack of remote control capability. Ultimately, they conclude that the size -- not as small as pico projectors, but not large enough to compete with higher-end models -- makes the M109S an awkward middle child. If you want the full rundown, however, hit the read link.

Looks cool, but I don't know anyone who uses pocket projectors.
I still use a pocket protector ..
I'm sorry that this is so irrelevant, BUT AMERICA HAS ITS FIRST AFRICAN-AMERICAN PRESIDENT!!!!!
Barack Obama won! He said we can, and we did
"Barack Obama won! He said we can, and we did"
Wow, that sure sounded very cult like... Don't you realize that they are all just politicians...
The messiah won?
I mean, Obama.
Right there with you Gman. Obama pwned McCain! W00t!
@mam00th
politicians, yes - but politicians running for arguably the most powerful office in less-arguably the most powerful nation in the world. No matter how long the US's standing as the most powerful nation will last, it will last for at least the next two months. Yes, they are politicians, but very, very, very important politicians. We are also running out of oil, out of troops, out of o-zone, and out of cheap labor (though at the same time deporting what we have). Stop being so cynical. This is a momentous time.
Mam00th,
that is where you fail. If you think he is just an ordinary politician I suppose you though FDR was an ordinary politician, or Lincoln, or JFK. People who have stirring rhetoric doesn't automatically make them full of shit. The man want to make this country great again. (Clue for those who haven't been paying attention: we are on the slide down to hell right now.) The man wants to put aside partisan politics and work together. Something that Bush claimed in BOTH election and outright fucking lied. This is something that independent voters need to get through their fucking heads: this is not just another politician that will tell people whatever they want to hear. I understand its easy to be jaded after countless years of this BS. But you need to believe that there can be someone out there that has a different view of things that the American public won't crap on. Obama said something very poignant last night that many missed. He wants to be the president for the people who voted for him and those who didn't vote for him. The things said last night are not of someone who just won the White House and doesn't need to pander to the people who voted for McCain because not only does he have the house and the senate he has the WH now. There is no point in going around pandering to Republicans unless the things said last night are from a man who wants to get this country rolling again.
So all I would ask is one and only one thing. Try and fucking believe. Even if its only 1 year. Believe that this country can get back to where it was in the 90's. Because Reb or Dem....the 90's with Clinton was a golden time for the economy and the US in general.
Now the only question I have is how long its going to take before some crackpot who bought into McCain and Palin's rhetoric that he's a socialist, conspires with terrorists and other bullshit tries to take him out. Because if that happens this country will burn to the ground. Mark my words. Cities will go up like the great Chicago fire in the 1800's.
306-145, Owned, Obama wins. We will have to see what happens in the next four years. ..Hopefully Motorola stays in business and gets that Android phone out the door.
All I remember is that he promised that he would never let Apple release a new iPod the day after I just bought the old one...!
@iEye
Box + Documentation + Included Accessories + Good Condition + Receipt = Original $$$
Then you take that refunded $$$ and buy the new iPod (Which I don't understand why you would)
back to LED projectors. I really don't understand when someone would need one of these. I'm just fascinated by the development of LED lighting. I wonder if LEDs will ever be bright enough to compete with normal projectors.
Even though I rarely hear it with a movie on, I'm annoyed how noisy my projector's fans are! And the heat it gives off is a pain in the summer! But I suppose if they ever develop LEDs as bright as current projector bulbs, they heat will probably come along with it.
On another note, it will be nice when LED light bulbs are priced like everyday incandescent bulbs today and our electric bills are cheaper! Now if they could only invent an electric motor to run on LEDs!!!
OLED my friend. get with the times.
Why is the resolution such an issue?
If you use 1:1 pixel mapping then it does 800x600 SVGA absolutely fine as well as 854x480 WVGA. Whereas a 800x600 native res would mean that WVGA wouldn't work, and if it was 858x480 then SVGA wouldn't work. Unless of course it can't do 1:1 pixel mapping and just upscales everything anyway, in which case it's fairly crap.
I am very happy to see the all reviews about Dell's M109S pocket projector, if you want more reviews and information visit this:http://www.testseek.com/home_electronics/video/projector-c-108.html
Gawd, I just now came upon all the naive Obama comments. Please, withhold your silly, misplaced enthusiasm. Stick to commentary on things easier to size up--projectors etc.--like we're supposed to. Next thing you'll be rooting for lawyers. Gawd! Thankfully I'm not American if you're this dozy.
