Apple Mac OS X Lion
A look back on popular stories from today in a specific year.

Now that we've thrown 'em off the trail, use the form below to get in touch with the people at Engadget. Please fill in all of the required fields because they're required.
It would be foolish to purchase an operating system with real world software support and gives you total control? I guess Jubei likes being someone's bitch.
ZG, just like Windows development, following and stalking. Even his post are copying some of my style. LOL
Look ZG Mac OS still leads. Just like the other stats regarding mobile access on Engadget. Should we post that again? Poor poor ZG.
LOL!
Yet again, bringing up irrelevant topics in a desperate attempt to gain an upper hand... However... It fails. Hard. Every time.
If I were to be copying ANYTHING of yours, you would see me sucking Steve Job's dick and talking about how Apple is so great and the Zune is a POS... Yet I don't, therefore, I'm nothing like you- and my posts are nothing like yours. In any way.
Can I help it if your posts give me a laugh- always do. Still have your profile bookmarked.
Ahh your level of immaturity shines from your last post. Stalking and posting profanity really shows your mentality. That of a pubescent teen.
Lately you've been posting homosexual suggestions to me. Are you gay? I'm sorry Zeus God, but I am heterosexual. If your constant posting of homosexual behavior excites you, perhaps you should be posting on those site tailored to your sexual preference.
You've been posting quite a bit of this to me, and I'm sorry if I don't get the same type of sexual excitement that you do when posting these suggestive homosexual behavior. If your gay, its okay. You can post those things, but not at Engadget, a technology blog site.
Jube, you don't get out much do you. Microsoft is a plagerising pack of loosers yes... but Apple is almost as bad, and has acrtuaslly never invented anything, even the iPhone was nothing that users had not been putting on their wish lists on public forums like this for nearly 10 years... The amount of Amigas Workbench and the way the Amiha worked in hardware that has been copied wholesale by Apple for OSX in the last 8 years has been disgusting... every new "feature" has been praised by ignorant followers we like to call "Mac users" as a completely new invention while those of us who know better get negative votes in forums like this one. Sad to say that things like touch screen interfaces were invented and used by Commodore on the Amiga in 1987... a little before Steve decided you must have them. Apple has stolen patents before, like Microsoft, but not as often as microsoft... a few of the features you are so proud of were owned by others, but Apple did not pay one cent for the use of the patents.
You are allowed t love your computer, but don't open your mouth and claim that Apple invented computing before you spend a few years researching Apples competitors, and the breakthroughs they made in the 80's and 90's that Steve Jobs said were useless... oh, things like preemptive multitasking, and colour screens.
Sorry Jubei, but Steve Jobs would declare otherwise.
You really need to get a life rather than posting the same old useless bullshit that you always do, which in darn near every way, is more immature than anything I do. Your trolling and antagonizing far outweighs what I've done.
I would use Linux if more software is available that runs natively. I use Windows Vista/XP to use software like 3ds Max and Photoshop natively, but if I didn't have to use that kind of software, I think Linux is a very good and stable platform for work. I hate Windows because of its stability and resource hunger. I think that it wouldn't make such a bad video game platform.

Engadget's trolling it's own site.
OS X has done alright considering I bet way over 50% of the readers are on a PC and are PC fans..
[Nope, I've heard of Anarchy (or anarchy communism in your case)... but the fine line difference between libertarian and anarchism is that libertarianism still holds to a central governing body.]
No anarchism is anti capitalist, so there is a massive difference between anarchism and libertarianism.
[In Linux, this would be the standards committees. Total anarchist software would have no package mangers or home servers.]
You appear to be equating anarchism with lack of organisation, in anarchism the standards committees, package mangers and home servers would still exist but would be run (democratically) by the developers, or other groups who where interested in assembling an distribution.
Well, you ask: "What is your preferred OS?", not "What OS do you use?".
If I could afford it, I would buy a Mac, because I am in the creative field.
But I use Linux and I've got to say, minus the fact that I cannot install Photoshop and Illustrator on it, Linux is the best!
Where is BSD?
I want to get things done without having immerse in technical details of Linux or pay big bucks for everything Mac and just confine myself to the creativity of Mr.Jobs, although I like him. Windows Vista could be better, but at least it's an acceptable compromise. I t works for me and I am actually beginning to like Vista.
I have three machines; two Macs, one linux box, and a laptop with windoze. The laptop, I rarely turn on. In fact, it works best when it's off.
This Poll is scary but the comments are even more scary ..
Honestly is there still some people who think Linux is harder to install than windows/Mac OS X on this website (which is a "geek" website) ???
Dude get your head out of your ass and welcome to the 21st century ..
You can install Ubuntu 8.10 in like 40 minutes on a average PC ! (100% GUI install)
In 40 minutes I was able to re-partition my HDD (with Xp on it) and install ubuntu and all my drivers! and it was a laptop!
So stop the bullshit !
there are some issues on Linux like very recent or very specific hardware support but it is NOT harder than any other OS install...
Now some people attack Linux on hardware compatibilty but you have to know 2 things :
#1 it's the manufacturer who decide to devellope drivers windows-only... so it has nothing to do with linux architecture ..
#2 MAC OS X isn't any better ! wake up !
OSX is better than Linux but that isn't saying much. 40 minutes wow, you are onto a winner there. I wish for the day when my OS install was 1 minute, and was as easy as a drag and drop of the system directories. Yes... 1 minute. 40 minutes is not so impressive.
Linux people really do not seem to have any idea about how bad their system is compared to what some of us used to have before 1990. Hell, today there is a Linux site crowing about a new invention to speed up Linux load times. You dump the RAM of a running system to HDD and on startup just load the RAM image back into RAM... only takes a few seconds... Only problem is that they did not invent it... unless time space has just had problems. The Amiga had this system in '93... you know... 15 years ago. It was fun for geeks who could load their OS in 6 seconds off the slowest laptop HDDs in history... but it only saved 4 seconds per boot on any serious Amiga, and what Linux people will learn is that normal users will not/did not tolerate the catch. The catch comes in the form of constant memory dumps because every time you change a setting, every time you move a file somewhere critical, every time you want to rearrange your icons on the desktop.... you need yet another RAM dump....
Linux users BELIEVE they invented/are inventing computing... but that is only because of their inexperience in the real world.
I prefer Linux coz its free, and can give u the ability to control your system although i am a designer who should love MAC, but Linux 4 me is better than it, may be i c the cost in the first but i hope i can make my programs works on the Linux version.
Note: U should deleter M$ windows, as its NON.
XP for games, Linux for everything else
OS X for work and home use for me.
Linux and sometimes windows for testing
I prefer Ubuntu. And this is even after finally testing OS X. And here is why:

I work with Final Cut Pro Studio 2 on a Mac pro Quad Core 3 Ghz with 4 gigs of ram every day at work as a tv and motion graphics designer. I long to come home to my custom built Dual Core AMD PC 2.2Ghz with 2 gigs of ram where I do some video editing but mostly music production with Protools. Windows wins. I can control windows.
