Russian Eee PC 901 looks good in skin-tight leather
We were all ready to whip out utilize a series of stereotypical cultural allusions when we saw pictures of a leather-clad Eee PC 901 show up on a German site -- only to have our hopes dashed when it turned out to actually be a Russian laptop under there. So, this entry will be entirely free of references to bondage and guys named Dieter, focusing only on what looks to be a very tastefully modified netbook. Nikussan at the Eee-PC.ru forums is responsible for this project, dubbed "Operation Anti-Gloss" (that's "O??????? ??????????" if you dig Cyrillic). He indicated that stretching and gluing this skin on the device wasn't too difficult, the only real issue being the fine trimming required to get it to latch. The finish is perhaps not quite as seamless as Asus's various official leather offerings, but we'd totally rock one at the local S&M club Starbucks.

Oперация Антиглянец (Operatsiya Antiglyanets)... that's kinda funny actually lol. Anyway the guy may say it wasn't hard, but I know if I tried it something ugly and/or disastrous would happen. Tight pants for guys are actually fairly common in Russia as well lol. Final thought, I love leather, but have trouble with it ever since I saw the leather tanning episode of World's Dirtiest Jobs, ugh!

yeah, that reference is clear, the microwaved lasagna pirates should totally do that to their school bus. it's the obvious move for their warlords over there in laos... it's like, why can't they get their act together stapling their halloween costumes to their bunkbeds and a sharing stories of wheat bread on thursday? i mean jesus, there aren't even that many days on the eskimo calander... and they complain about their taffy wars. i just don't get why their so naive.

I can only see this as useful if that was a tablet in skin tight leather.
Patriks7 @ Nov 4th 2008 11:27AM
I would actually want something like that on my MacBook.. I carry it in a sleeve non-stop and yet it still is scratched :|

How about a bit of Антиглянец for the Asus Asipre 1 display too. Maybe a bit of leather covering the screen? :)

http://forum.eeeuser.com/viewtopic.php?id=50121 seems like it really is a 901. do engadet simply meant russian eeePC 901? or some other netbook entirely?
duffman @ Nov 5th 2008 8:15PM
This thing looks a little too much like my wallet.
