there's some research software that can minimise shearing in clean left-right pans, but can't do much about up-down, and definitely not handheld jellocam or strobe light artifacts.
don't get me wrong, i love where all this technology is headed, but rolling shutter will be with us for a few years yet. who knows, we might even get used to it, adding rolling shutter to film grain, shallow DOF and vignetting to the list of subconscious associations with 'that film look'.
