JVC, Sensio team up on high-end consumer 3D projection system
Far from being the first (or second, or third) partnership aimed at getting 3D in the home, JVC and Sensio have jointly chosen EHX Fall 2008 to announce their loving new union. By joining forces, they're purporting to introduce the "very first high-end 3D solution available on the consumer market." Granted, this so-called solution won't be cheap nor simple, as it will require a pair of JVC's costly D-ILA projectors and a media server integrating Sensio's 3D decoding technology. At the show, the pair demonstrated the forthcoming system by utilizing two $9,000 (yes, each) DLA-RS2 beamers (pictured), though it's never stated whether or not any gaudy goggles are required for visualizing the third-dimension. At any rate, the kit won't be available until sometime in 2009, but it's quite possible we'll get a sneak peek at CES in January.

Finally we are going to be able to play 3D video games!

Just like we've been doing for years...
Im imagining they are using polarizing filters on the two projectors, and will in fact require polarized glasses to use the system. Of course, thats the expensive way to do it. One projector with a switching polarizing filter works just as well, and only needs one projector.
How'd you get to be so smart?
can someone tell that "cougar" in the banner ad that shades and pointing don't make her appear more youthful?
Bet it would be with goggles !!
let's just skip straight to holographic displays that beam images from afar directly to our living rooms :p they can do that on tv already!
Sensio is nothing special.. In fact 3D DLP looks much better and the sync is better as well, there is no real need for 9K projectors either to achieve the same effect. Stereoscopic player can also play Sensio encoded movies as well as just about anything else out there and you get the flexibility of choosing your output format. just my 2c
Hope all you poor bastards aren't pissed I'm typing this using a 3D capable (as in you just need the content for it) $25,000.00 1080p+ projector. But have fun with your little budget project...
Ooooohh, gotta get hands on one of these!
