Modder removes buttons from Xbox 360 controller, still finds a way to play

At first glance, this Xbox 360 controller mod doesn't look as hardcore as some others we've seen, but its minimalism disguises its epicness. The modder took the controller apart and rebuilt it without the four face buttons or the direction pad, then placed a couple extra switches on the back that perform the same functions. The elaborate and not-at-all-easy process detailed beyond the read link results in a practical layout for hardcore types -- with the buttons on the lower back, leet first-person-shooter players don't have to take their hands off the sticks to perform actions like jumping and reloading, and the controller is less likely to rock due to alternating activity on the top and bottom. This isn't the first mod to employ this idea, but the complete removal of the dead face buttons for better aesthetics sets it apart. Video after the break.

The genius part here is that he moved the left analog stick back where it belongs in a PS-esque manner.
Ugh, no. This is why this mod kinda fails.
Put the left analog stick back into its proper place.
So good idea for him but
A.) That;s why I use the bear claw finger scheme or whatever the name is on halo 3, you use the left bumper to jump and you can still aim, and shoot.
B.) he shouldn't have used fiberglass to mold to the plastic controller, he should've used fusor and molded plastic to plastic. much more durable and it's not going to crack.
Neat idea.
If only someone could mod away the STUPID BATTERY PACK. God i hate that thing that was the reason i bought a ps3.
If the interface is somewhat flawed i dont want it. And i like the Xbox controller, its just the DAMN BATTERY PACK.

ok come on the GC controller feels cheaper than the n64 controller whats so great bout the button layout? the contoller s was and will be the best layout the xbox 360 controller only improved the design to perfection. i would not want this modded hunk of junk why move the analog stick. and for thous who say its to better coup with using a other than sony controller you are not the gamers you think you are if you cant adapt to any situation and overcome.
In other news, keyboard and mouse are still superior to controllers when playing an FPS...
Exactly, if he was really serious about his FPS performance, and i assume he is, considering his reasoning for this layout was for enhanced FPS play, then why not just use a keyboard and mouse? No matter what you do with dual analog, its still ages behind keyboard and mouse. I dare to say, no matter how good this modder is with dual analogs, an above average player using keyboard and mouse would probably still hand him his ass.
Looks like he's trying to design it after the PS controller, no? Maybe that says something...
