T-Mobile Cameo photo frame launches this month for $99.99
We never thought we'd live to see the day that digital photo frames had cooler phones than our parents. Actually, okay, that doesn't surprise us at all -- and T-Mobile's helping us live out that reality with the Cameo, its Parrot-sourced frame that features integrated GSM hardware and a dedicated phone number that lets loved ones shoot pictures to it from afar via MMS or email. The rumored details have turned out to be spot-on, meaning that you'll be paying $99.99 for the frame plus another $9.99 monthly to keep the line active. An exact launch date has yet to be revealed, it'll be available at some point in mid-November.

That guy wearking a burger-king-chef shirt in the background looks a little creepy.
Bad Beaver @ Nov 7th 2008 6:24AM
And you, Alfred, sound a little bit like a girl. ;)
alfred @ Nov 7th 2008 9:49AM
And you, Senor Beaver, sound like you are a very naught female body part.
Bad Beaver @ Nov 7th 2008 11:21AM
Well, you're certainly qualified to appraise that ;)

Centipede Damascus @ Nov 7th 2008 10:53PM

A T-Mobile branded picture frame? Seriously?

$9.99 a month, so other people can remotely upload photos of their hairy ass onto my photo frame? I'll pass.
RyanTV @ Nov 7th 2008 9:07AM
agreed... It's actually a pretty cool concept, but it's not quite worth $10/month.
But knowing my friends they would be sending me pictures of their nutsacs or the toilet bowl after they had a real blowout.
Laughing Man @ Nov 7th 2008 8:51AM
Can't we do that already with WiFi and Flickr or WiFi, remote computer access, and some knowledge? And is doing these ways, like you know, free and stuff
Prey521 @ Nov 7th 2008 8:55AM
This has to be one of the dumbest ideas I've ever seen.

I can envision hundreds of these in some art gallery basically letting people upload their own photos for show. Sure, there would have to be some sort of a screening process, but it be kind of cool just to go and see hundreds of random images that would keep changing every few minutes. I don't think I would pay $9.99 a month for this, but I know my friends take better pictures than I do and I think the idea in general is pretty nice.
Funke, Tobias Dr. @ Nov 7th 2008 9:37AM
I like your idea. Kinda like http://www.flickr.com/photos/ , but on a larger scale?

I'm really confused at the ignorance of some people. This isn't intended for people like the ones that visit this site. Take a couple extra seconds to think about it's target and realize that it's for someone who isn't good with tech. This has a zero difficulty level. It's for that grandmother who lives on the other side of the country who would like to see her grandchildren more often, etc. Just because it's not for me or you doesn't mean it's dumb.
benderillo @ Nov 7th 2008 11:18AM
Thank you.

I can see this also as a way to send messages to some people actually. You can take photos to let them know where you are without even saying a word. What would be cool is, if it can do MMS, it should be able to play video and almost turn it into a visual/video voicemail for that someone you want to leave a message for.
Pictures wouldn't be so bad actually as they say, some are worth a thousand words.

I get so many ridiculous pictures emailed to me already. The last thing I want is to bring a girl over to my place and all of the sudden a picture pops up on my digital photo frame that one of my moron friends found on /b.
Uncontrol @ Nov 7th 2008 3:10PM
I think this would be cool in cafes and the like, but not so much for a home environment.

How long before this is hacked and my grandmother has a photo frame of whatever a hacker wants to put on it? Grandmothers everywhere will now have a goatse picture on their mantle. Ewww....
