Standard Dell mouse gets GSR electrode implant
Looking to spark up a makeshift psychology lab in the basement of your house? Look no further than the galvanic skin response computer mouse. For those unaware, GSR electrodes can gather data about human interactions with computers, though most rigs are so invasive that test subjects end up freaking out rather than passing on useful information. This non-obtrusive method relies on a device that the vast majority of computer users already use (that'd be a mouse), and by simply installing the sensors into the left and right click buttons, you're left with an analyzing tool that may not even tip off your kid sister, significant other, or your most favorite poker pal. At any rate, hit the read link to get your mad scientist on.

BratPAQ @ Nov 9th 2008 8:48AM
half the people reading this i bet dont even know what GRS is, and that includes me.
puhsitch @ Nov 9th 2008 4:51PM
It doesn't matter whether the person knows or not...it's a physiological measurement
MMaster23 @ Nov 9th 2008 8:38AM
I'm sure I'm not the only one who misread the title and thought wtf is GPS doing in a mouse...
Patriks7 @ Nov 9th 2008 8:51AM
So that if it runs away, you can find it :p

There is none.
strider_mt2k @ Nov 9th 2008 9:46AM
Well THAT annoyance will surely throw off the results.
newdendrite @ Nov 9th 2008 9:18AM
Afraid you have the name of the physiological measure wrong. It is GSR -- galvanic skin response. You might want to make an editorial change.
MattieShoes @ Nov 9th 2008 9:21AM
GRS is "great red spot". It's a giant storm larger than earth and it's located on Jupiter. I'm sure you've seen pictures. :-P
Roberto @ Nov 9th 2008 11:35AM
L. Ron Hubbard would be proud. Free stress test anyone?
Kevin @ Nov 9th 2008 11:55AM
I saw "GSR" and thought Gunshot Residue. Too much CSI, I guess...
derX @ Nov 9th 2008 3:02PM
xDDD I was going to write the same EXACT thing.
Also, am I the only person who's read the post and still has no idea what these new-fangled GSR doohickeys are?
Maria @ Nov 9th 2008 2:11PM
Galvanic skin response is a measure of skin conductance. In some people, a rise in skin conductance correlates to a strong emotion. So this would be useful if you wanted to see how stressed, angry, or happy (etc) people become when playing a game or performing a task.

Greg Mcp @ Nov 9th 2008 6:21PM
I just want it to give electric shocks to people when they get shot in video games.
rg @ Nov 9th 2008 11:36PM
great for scientologists
Ashish @ Nov 10th 2008 8:16AM
How bout this. . use the metal electrodes to punish the player for getting shot at in a multiplayer game.. :D
Oh , and i just got a couple of kinky ideas as well !
