Circuit City's Black Friday deals leak, no word on if it'll be open to sell things

Okay, so maybe Circuit City only formally closed 155 of its retail locations, but let's put it this way -- if we're up at 3:00AM and looking at which store to camp in front of, we're picking the one that, um, isn't bankrupt. All that aside, five pages of mildly delectable Black Friday deals have leaked for the company, giving you a full fortnight to think things over and handpick the bargains that you'll be hunting for. Of course, savvy online shoppers like yourself aren't apt to find anything here too fantastic, but we'd wager that even a $7.99 laptop sleeve is a far better value than a $12 Guns N' Roses CD.

Yeah, kind of a shame Axl's hijacked the GNR name and is using it for what is essentially a solo project with contributions from a lot of other musicians. But whatever, he owns the rights, so he can do what he wants. I justify it by thinking that it's just another band that I also happen to like. Either way the new CD is going to be killer. Please keep in mind that all Circuit City ads ONLY apply to stores that are NOT closing. Don't expect a $7 laptop sleeve at the store with all the "Everything Must Go!" signs. The closing 155 stores are no longer receiving new shipments at all, much less any bulk for the holiday season.

Hell its worse then that, the stores closing are not taking part of any print advertisement pricing. Which makes it pretty hard to move product for stores that even at "everything must go" discounts of 5-20% have stuff that's more expensive then other stores that have stuff on sale. Although today I did see guys walking around with signs that said up to 30% off, which maybe means they might move something so far of the 3 CC stores I have been in that are closing they aren't moving jack shit.

cc just doesn't pass the eyeball test. the stores have a terrible layout and are dreary. Its something I would expect to find in Russia. I imagine if they buy best buy that they would still fail and get overtaken by walmart in a heartbeat. cc's problem is their awful marketing. everytime i go in there I want to leave. bb seems interesting and people want that. it sounds stupid but it works

The gaming-related Black Friday deals have been a load of crap for the most part, seeing mostly $10 savings at the most. Hell's Highway (oddly still $50 on PC) and Bioshock are $30 usually on the 360 now, but marked down to $20, Dead Rising has dropped to $10 from $20. Not that those are bad deals, but they aren't deals that I'd wait a couple hours in line for in the wee hours of the morning. I remember when Best Buy, back when Battlefield 2142 had just been out for a couple weeks, marked 2142 down 50% and was selling both 2142 and Age of Empires 3 for $25 each. Now that was a good deal - I went back a few months later to buy another copy and it was $40. Unfortunately when either your company's in the shitter or your competition's in the shitter you can't really be persuaded to offer too many good deals.

My son is buying the Samsung 48inch HDTV ----he said they had a great price this weekend at $1299.....He said his father in law went out and bought it, and had circuit city install it----he also got the bluray dvd.........we have bought a couple of the 32in LG TVs, and they are great!!!! I love how when everyone talks about CC it is all about them going out of business. Listen up people all they did was file for chapter 11. If you knew anything about anything you would know that chapter 11 is for restructuring and reorganizing the company. It helps them get rid of some stupid debt like leases they have been paying on for 20 years when stores are no longer in those locations. All this means is that they are under aid for up til 18 months. So get over it people CC isn't going anywhere.
This kind of stuff is going on with every company. Everyday companies are filing or laying off hundreds and thousands of people. Everyone's favorite Best Buy (except me, CC all the way) filed for over 1 million dollar loan the other day because they are having problems paying for things. Best Buy's stock seems to be falling little by little from week to week. But that is just how things are going to be, the economy is shit.
So everyone stop worrying about CC going out of business cause it won't happen and worry about how many people your gonna have to plow over in line on black friday to get to that TV you want!

PS: if they file for chapter 7 then we will have a problem
