Escape Clock terminates your dream sequence with Control-Fist
Simple in design, perfect in execution, we bring you Santiago Cantera's Escape Clock. No tiny snooze buttons to fumble with here dozy Joe, just one big key that shuts off the alarm when meeting the business end of a morning beef hammer. Set it on edge and you've switched from alarm clock mode to an in-room stereo. The worst part? It's just a concept... for now.

Sweet. I would so go for something like that.
Akio @ Nov 17th 2008 3:32AM
a concept? pfff... I'm not a "hey I want that clock person" but hey, I want that clock!
I'd pretty much buy this if they ever made it.. heres to hoping!
Akio @ Nov 17th 2008 3:33AM
...no, I dont want a clock person, its a failed quote! I'm not admitting to a fetish...
Plothole @ Nov 17th 2008 3:35AM
Pity it's only a concept. This would be the perfect gift for a nerdy friend of mine.
High Ranks make you sterile @ Nov 17th 2008 8:58AM
Yes... a friend. Right. A friend named ......Splothole
Plothole @ Nov 18th 2008 8:29PM
Heh. Actually I'm more interested in the Clock that you can talk to personally. The friend I'm talking about is named Matt, whom I've known since I lived in college housing.
dishbreaker1526 @ Nov 17th 2008 3:36AM
i dunno about you, but i would rather have an alarm clock that ISN'T easy to turn off. I can see myself turning off this thing in my sleep before i even wake up. The stereo system form-factor idea is interesting, though.
BlissX @ Nov 17th 2008 3:55AM
I guess you could buy the Alt+F4 Clock set. Two hands would require some motor skills.
Ctrl+Alt+Delete for those who seek a challenge. And maybe a nerdgasm.
Benson @ Nov 17th 2008 4:19AM
Ctrl+Alt+Backspace seems more analogous for snooze, although you have to hit it 10 times in two minutes (or something like that).
init: Id "X" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes.
Tim Brown @ Nov 17th 2008 4:51AM
Considering my state of mind in the morning, ie I don't have one, F1 would be better for me.
BratPAQ @ Nov 17th 2008 10:50AM
then if you have WinMo phone or pda, this free GAlarm is for you, it has a maze puzzle that you have to solve first before you can hit the snooze, i didnt use it though, the whole house is already waked up by my blaring alarm, and i cant still solve the damn maze.

I'll wait for the version that screams when I hit it.
WarMouse @ Nov 17th 2008 3:41AM
You mean a wife?
...
TriZz @ Nov 17th 2008 5:52AM
@ WarMouse: Thank you. It's 5:30am here and I needed that laugh.
Valicore @ Nov 17th 2008 6:59AM
Ahahahaha, that was awesome, I needed that too.
Lumer @ Nov 17th 2008 9:36AM
Screaming wife?...
*tested*
...Works!!
eggothewaffle @ Nov 17th 2008 3:40AM
"Just one big key that shuts off the alarm when meeting the business end of a morning beef hammer."
What about women? How do they turn off the alarm clock?
Jon Nelson @ Nov 17th 2008 9:01AM
Damn you, eggo, you beat me to it!
Benson @ Nov 17th 2008 4:14AM
Well, this would be one 1337 clock, but it's misspelled.
That, or it speaks German, poses inscrutable monosyllabic questions, and is still misspelled.
Nick @ Nov 17th 2008 4:49AM
Do want.

i need an alarm that forces me to get up, i have a sterio in another room with speeker wire running across the hall to speekers by my bed, so i have to get up and go across the hall to turn it off... unless i have some wire clippers handy.

"morning beef hammer" made me spew orange juice all over my desk.
loocas @ Nov 17th 2008 9:25AM
Give me an Enter and I'm sold!
bhtooefr @ Nov 17th 2008 9:32AM
You know, I already have an alarm clock that does that whole "hit the top, and it shuts off" thing.
It's a Sharp SPC-005.
What I want is a 24 hour alarm clock, though... I tried connecting the 24H jumper on the board, but it didn't respond. :(
(Besides, it doesn't have all the LEDs installed in the first digit, so the 2 would be malformed.)
sola @ Nov 17th 2008 9:43AM
Both of the radio-set alarm clocks i've bought in the last five years have a 24-hour option; you could try those. One is from Oregon Scientific and has a weekend/weekday alarm and a remote temp gauge; the other is a little more basic.
Predator.Z6 @ Nov 17th 2008 9:52PM
LOL. I have a Spongebob alarm clock that does the same job. Except he's sitting on top, and it gets uncomfortable hitting a sponge every morning telling it to shut up.
spam_free @ Nov 17th 2008 10:48AM
LOL @ "beef hammer"
JonZ @ Nov 17th 2008 12:04PM
I will end up removing the Esc key as usual...
MarionBarfs @ Nov 17th 2008 12:38PM
morning beef hammer.....classic

I feel the same way...
I HOPE THIS CLOCK GETS MADE :(
