Goodyear announces five more GPS units in time for Christmas

The folks over at The NCC just hit us with details and pictures of their five new Goodyear-branded GPS models, three of which are due out in time for Christmas. Starting at $179.99 for the entry level, 3.5-inch GY130, and working their way skywards to $499.99 for the GY440 4.3-inch widescreen with Bluetooth and 12 months free MSN Direct, all models feature touchscreens, Instant Rerouting (the device calculates all alternate routes in a one-mile radius of the vehicle, so recalculation isn't needed if you get off course), a SiRF GPS receiver, turn-by-turn spoken directions and 3D view. There is plenty more to these units, however -- hit the gallery for plenty of truly breathtaking renders and check out pricing and stats after the break.

Nice case - is that included with any of the units or is it like a $50 accessory?

Hey-
I'm looking at finally upgrading my four year old GPS. I was thinking there might be good deals out there or on Black Friday. Anyone have any suggestions for something under $350 or so?
Zoe @ Nov 18th 2008 11:37PM
I just got A Navigon 2200 a few weeks ago. its about $220 (you can probably get it lower using the Ebay/ microsoft price discount) The gps unit works great and there's an integrated traffic receiver so free traffic updates for life! Not to mention Navigon's reality view and lane assistant makes sure you never make a wrong turn.

This is way too cheezy for my taste. I know it's made by Goodyear, but c'mon, a rubber coated GPS unit that is made for automobile navigation. Who would buy one of these?
gpsguru @ Nov 19th 2008 6:22PM
Apparently it's a theme:

This one looks less like a porcupine though.
sumsika @ Dec 29th 2008 9:40AM
