LG's fashionable Prada II (and watch) gets shown to the camera
Well, that didn't take long. Merely hours after LG's Prada II was treated to a dedicated microsite, along comes the hands-on photographs we've been expecting. CNET's UK branch was able to wrangle one in, and as predicted, the mobile didn't hesitate to pose for a few nice snapshots. Eagle-eyed readers will notice that it certainly put on a little heft since the first go 'round, but the slight downturn in attractivity is more than compensated by the inclusion of a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. Have a peek at the read link for more hands-on goodness, including a look at the matching Bluetooth wristwatch.

After owning the first generation, I have to say "no thanks".
The phone is very stylish and looks very nice, but the usability is very low. Sure it has MMS, but that's the only "+" I found about it over the iPhone.. meaning it falls WAAY behind all the other phones..
But I think the UI is a bit more responsive than the average WinMo..
Has it got copy and paste?
This one actually has a capacitive Touch Screen, so don't write it off just yet.
So did the last one
But it was still really laggy (?)
I've said it before and I'll say it again.
I wouldn't want LG shoes why would I want a Prada phone?
This random cross branding is just stupid.
Also the first gen sucked to the the point of unusability. As mentioned above, the touch responsiveness was terrible.
I wouldn't want LG shoes why would I want a Prada phone?
See.
The Prada II has the same touch responsiveness as the iPhone or T-Mobile G1.
@Wolfticket
It isn't really that bad a phone from what I can see. Its purely the name Prada that would make me run a million miles from it.
Not only this, but how many people that would buy a Prada edition cellphone, would actually wear that ugly ass watch that comes along with it? Maybe it's just me, but if I was wealthy enough to not care about overpaying for clothes made buy a super-expensive fashion house, I would also probably not think twice about overpaying for a Vertu phone.
Obviously you're a bloke without a girlfriend. Ask any women and metro/homosexual males. They love everything Prada, Gucci, D&G, etc.
Make that watch a calculator and I'm in... If you're going to look like a total dweeb, might as well go all the way.
but will you say it again?
Why is this considered an iPhone clone?
It isn't. It is a WinMo phone with a slide out QWERTY.
Uhm no.. not a WinMo phone.. It's got this special "LG + Prada" software..
First edition came out before iPhone. Still, both arent my favorite phones...
Good try, but the Prada came out before the iPhone.
That was ment for
OCEAN 'CLAK'
You fail me yet again, engadget comment box.
strategically placed single quotes in the user name prevent replies. clever, huh? I thing the folks at blogsmith need a little help in the programming department.
as much as we all would love to flame the hell out of CLAK's posts directly, he has apostrophes in his name... for some reason that makes it so you can't reply to him.
Is that right? Bloody heck I've tried to reply to a few of his comments... Maybe Engadget should just ban him, he makes no contributions to discussions anyways.
Ah, that explains it. Engadget should ban him.
Twunt.
@Mike
"Ah, that explains it. Engadget should ban him."
Eh? Are we communist China now? o_O
@CLAK
Just go yourself will you? According to you, everything in this world is a clone.. According to your "logic" (lol) that iPhone up your ass is a clone of my PDA I had quite a few years ago.. It had a touchscreen as well you know.. Also with Wifi and some other fancy stuff.. It actually kicks your iPhone in the balls as it had copy paste!
Now just do us all a favor and roll over and die..
I bet if we would have an argument between four eyes (or whatever the phrase is) about all these clones, you would explode by the time I tell you the whole truth..
(P.S. This is not a failed attempt at a reply, just my last replies to that ***** failed, as obviously Engadget had some fun with the code)
I totally agree with you and CLAK is a down right pain. But really, let's just blur his comments out and don't feed the troll.
True that..
But its really hard to not make a comment about his stupidity >_>
Maybe Engadget should just listen to its readers for once (without which this site would be dead) and do something about annoying people like him, who just mess up all the comments >_>
iPrada
Don't be a CLAK.
uAreadouche
I can not reply to this Clak person?
I see that I can not.
along long with a LOT of other people :(
The Devil talks on a Prada.
Uh, sorry.. I'll leave now.
You might be smarter than the idiots who wrote this comment system but you aren't smarter than me you worthless troll.
Its understood, I do it for the hood.
They copied the touchscreen, so iPhone is the first to ever have a touchscreen on it?
....all those other times I've used things with touchscreens way before iPhone ever came out, dear god.
Like every other comment on this news post no doubt, my comment was ment for CLAK... pwned -_-
maybe he's never seen a black rectangle before the iphone
I hope this one turns out to be a great iPhone alternative =)
is that OLED?
How the hell did John reply to him/her/it?
Gah! That was to Mikes cool...
