Ratchet & Clank headline another PSP-3000 bundle; you're simply thrilled
Look, we know how much you love Ratchet & Clank-oriented PSP SKUs, don't try and hide your desire. This latest PSP-3000 bundle to feature the respectively furry / mechanical duo includes a black PSP and Everyday Shooter in addition to Ratchet & Clank Size Matters, instead of the silver PSP and echochrome featured in that other bundle. These are all very important distinctions, we assure you. A 1GB Memory Stick Duo card and the ever-desireable National Treasure 2 are included as well. The new bundle hits on December 15 for the same old $199 pricetag. We're still waiting on that $169 standalone PSP-3000 with bated, Skype-ready breath.

The R&C series is the most fun I've had with a cartoony-looking game. Not everything I need to kill needs to look like another human.
bandigolo @ Nov 19th 2008 2:39PM
Am I the only person in America that despises bundles?
ZaxCG2 @ Nov 19th 2008 2:40PM
Right here, brotha.
Robert @ Nov 19th 2008 2:46PM
Fear not, my good man; I hate 'em too. Want $169 PSP-3000...
ybd @ Nov 19th 2008 3:52PM
Technically I'm not American, but I can't stand bundles either.
Andir3.0 @ Nov 19th 2008 4:36PM
Why? Bundles normally give you some value to your purchase of a base unit. Nintendo has been doing this for years with just about every console. You don't have to buy them all you know.
Unique Gift Ideas @ Nov 19th 2008 4:49PM
It's just about as annoying as any other lame marketing ploy. If you don't like whatever comes in the bundle, you can simply buy the stand alone. Or do what I did and gift the games you have no interest in playing during the holiday season.
bandigolo @ Nov 19th 2008 4:56PM
Primarily because it allows the hardware manufacturers to keep the prices of standalone units artificially high by piggybacking on the novelty of new/popular games. But also because the bundles generally suck and on one hand you feel pressured into it by the "bargain," while on the other hand you know damn well you don't want the bundled items. That's why.
Andir3.0 @ Nov 19th 2008 5:46PM
So you buy the base model if you don't want the bundled item. You don't have to buy the bundle.
ZaxCG2 @ Nov 19th 2008 2:40PM
I can has JUST the PSP-3000, plz?
john @ Nov 19th 2008 4:12PM
why would you want a 3000? the 2000 has a better non-interlace screen
eggothewaffle @ Nov 19th 2008 2:40PM
Just like how Nintendo is the first ever company to have more peripherals than good games to play, Sony is the first ever company to have more SKU's available than people actually wanting to buy them.
bandigolo @ Nov 19th 2008 2:42PM
HA! Brilliant. Me ranks you high.
Sean @ Nov 19th 2008 5:11PM
Actually, I would argue that Sega was the first company to have FAR more peripherals than interest, but the SNES and NES do rank pretty highly.
3dpenguin @ Nov 19th 2008 2:41PM
The PSP-3000 isn't that the one with the new "interlacing" feature... FAIL.
Gus @ Nov 19th 2008 2:43PM
I love it "when" people don't know how "to" use quotation marks.
Chin-Poh @ Nov 19th 2008 2:50PM
I hope the interlacing problem has been fixed or mitigated in the new bundle.
AVG @ Nov 19th 2008 2:55PM
Who in the WORLD wants to watch National Treasure 2 on their PSP?! Who wants to watch that thing PERIOD?
JOCOMAN @ Nov 19th 2008 3:14PM
I use my PSP 1000 every day at work (on break and lunch) surf the web, play MOH on line, use the web radio and yes watch movies sum time..... who me!
AVG @ Nov 19th 2008 3:19PM
Just know that when you watch National Treasure 2 on a PSP, somewhere a good movie and a good game die a little bit inside.
kal326 @ Nov 19th 2008 3:23PM
What suprised me the most is that they still are putting movies on UMDs. I might have to keep an eye out for new music on mini disc now......
tehpyro @ Nov 19th 2008 3:04PM
So are they bundling the R&C series with the PSP because R&C isn't selling or because the PSP isn't selling? FAIL + FAIL = ¿Success?
NHAnimator @ Nov 19th 2008 3:29PM
I'm going out on a limb here to disagree with saying that 30+ million units "isn't selling".
tehpyro @ Nov 19th 2008 3:38PM
It's not that they're not selling together it's that I doubt one would do that without the other!
tehpyro @ Nov 19th 2008 3:39PM
do that well*** PSP is a dying platform. Honestly the DS has lost a lot of it's spark with many as well
MARSHAK @ Nov 19th 2008 6:09PM
i agree! we need a new ground breaking mobile platform.
dave @ Nov 19th 2008 3:11PM
BATED breath
Paul Miller @ Nov 19th 2008 3:28PM
Gah, fixed.
Teh Lup @ Nov 19th 2008 3:30PM
Old news here, had them physically in Radioshack (they sell games?) a week ago.
B.Cherry @ Nov 19th 2008 3:34PM
I'll be buyin' one seein' that my first gen PSP was stolen.
superfresh @ Nov 19th 2008 3:46PM
I'm not one to tell Sony how to run their business, but this PSP thing looks like it would be great to play games on...they should design some for it. It might also be cool if they could find some way for it to sync with my Folding @ Home console.
BigD145 @ Nov 19th 2008 4:20PM
Charging more for bundled garbage is not how you sell a product. "Ever-desirable"? Ugh. I'd rather spend my $200 on a gun so I can shoot myself.
bandigolo @ Nov 19th 2008 4:49PM
i think that was sarcastic. Can't imagine anyone is yearning to assume the identity of Nicholas Cage.
sjdurfey @ Nov 19th 2008 8:14PM
outside of national treasure 2, this bundle looks pretty sweet. R&C are always up for a great game, Everyday Shooter was a lot of fun to play on my PS3. All for $30 more than the stand alone unit? .... oh wait, R&C is $20, and Everyday Shooter is $10....hmmm, so much for that perceived value, eh? Unless you consider National Treasure 2 for free a "value"......
Des @ Nov 19th 2008 6:30PM
Umm Amazon's UK store has a few "non product" user photos

Kspraydad @ Nov 19th 2008 10:06PM
I actually am thrilled...I much prefer classic black to the silver of the current.
KillerSnake @ Nov 19th 2008 10:46PM
So the PSP 3000 only came out a year later than the 2000 so is the 4000 come out late 2009?? I guess yes
Kilo720 @ Nov 24th 2008 10:37AM
yea!!!
