Motorola's Attila even more cruel in the wild

That's some beefy phone Motorola's got there. Assuming, of course, we're not looking at a KIRF which is entirely possible in the three months since the initial leaked Attila (or is it Atila?) image -- that iPhone looking UI / theme pictured after the break doesn't help with the legitimacy either. Regardless, it's not like you're holding out for this 320 x 240 pixel WinMo 6.1 candybar anyway, right? No matter how many HSPA frequencies (three, ok) it supports. Embarrassing Moto, embarrassing. One more shot after the break just to rub it in.
[Thanks, Anthony C.]

@ArcticFox
Clearly You have no experience in commenting blogs. Oh by the way, the device is FUGLY. The shape reminds me of Moto C350

The second picture looks like its running some kind of theme of OS X, unless they have one with their own OS as well.. And look at it first before you start flaming, because this one actually is identical to OS X, even more than the M8..

Is it just me or in the first picture, second icon in from the left looks like the "C=" from Commodore.

It's a triple-bonded Carbon atom. It's part of a new system that makes you guess the structure of random chemicals to answer a call.
I got a polypeptide chain with 30 amino acids :(

Entity @ Nov 24th 2008 7:27AM
The second picture clearly has the iPhone OS. Definitely a KIRF.
iEye @ Nov 24th 2008 7:48AM
The little Motorola symbol is kinda off alignment and it looks cheap, that alone says KIRF.
KarlW @ Nov 24th 2008 7:57AM
You see Moto, there's this trick to making a successful product. You need to actually create a compelling product, with compelling features. Just copying the competition and not doing anything new that people want tends not to drive them to the product, which often leads to a poor product.
JZ @ Nov 24th 2008 8:13AM
Well if they put this product at a good price and make it avaible for the whole unlike certain other producers they could have a sellar. And pretty, well not everybody likes blondes, though blondes sell better so yes, it might not sell as good but still could do well.
That said, it might be a bit early to consider it cruel before its actually released. Who knows what the GUI in the end will look like, seen to much Palm lately around though :/
KarlW @ Nov 24th 2008 8:24AM
Now that it's carrier subsidised, I don't consider the iPhone to be prohibitively expensive. I don't think Moto can make this a hit just by making it cheap.
What makes products sell is great features. Design helps a bit, but features are what it's about. Nobody's ever made a hit product by making a pretty piece of garbage. There's always some killer features which appeal to a particular market segment. With the iPhone, the killer feature was Safari and an easy-to-use interface. Some people may have different priorities, in which case they'll either find a great feature on the iPhone that appeals to them and buy it for that reason, or they won't and will buy something else.
In any case, I don't see any features on this product that appeal to me, or that I would consider as appealing to many.

John H. @ Nov 24th 2008 10:03AM
That is one TINY hand.
Nick @ Nov 24th 2008 12:08PM
Hey look its a phone with icons, I guest they copy that from apple. Did apple also invent the wheel? Darn it, I guess everybody copies from Apple these days.
You fanboys ever thought that while Apple has set a trend does not make every touchscreen an iPhone clone. But then again this is iengadget.
Jeff R @ Nov 24th 2008 12:38PM
Nooo, it's because it uses the same images, not concept.
TonyLoaf @ Nov 24th 2008 12:11PM
OK, I'll bite. What does "KIRF" mean? I tried to find it on the BGR site but no luck.
