LG's BD300 next in line for HD Netflix streaming
Remember when we heard that Microsoft's Xbox 360 was just one of many boxes that would support HD Netflix streaming over the next few months? Yeah, well we get the impression that the first week in December will be the go-live date for a smattering of new units. Just hours after hearing that Samsung's BD-P2500 and BD-P2550 Blu-ray decks would be receiving a free update to enable high-def Netflix support, along comes a strikingly similar release from LG tipping us off on a strikingly similar update for its BD300. Said BD player, which has supported Watch Instantly from day one, will also support HD streaming after a gratis firmware upgrade in "early December." Mmm, we definitely like where this is headed.

Too bad all the old Toshiba HD DVD players couldn't be flashed with a firmware upgrade that would allow them to Netflix Stream...
WGAS?
Engadget, go home. You have done enough. Eat some turkey and drink a beer.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone
I totally agree! Thanks Engadget! Now go take some time off! :P
HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!
May we remember that there is much to be thankful for...
Yeah! Fuck all your readers in countries that *DON'T* celebrate Thanksgiving.
Seriously though, just have a thanksgiving dinner flavored soda instead!
I'm confused. I thought all bloggers by definition are nerds who live at home with their parents. So aren't they already home? ;)
Seriously though, Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
I'd agree with the thanksgiving break, but sadly I crave more and more news. I'm in Canada, so we've already celebrated. Back on topic, well done LG! Now if only those arrogant jerks at Sony would take a queue from the rest of the tech-world and start equipping the PS3 with some Netflix love. Or for crying out loud get the video service up here in Canada! So frustrating...
Those players cost $300, for this price I would rather get PS3... but again, will they enable Netflix on PS3?
Happy Thanksgiving, Engadget!
PlayOn handles demshits.
I'm pretty sure Darren murph (correct me if i'm wrong) is british so he doesn't practice whatever this tanksgiving is. As for this well no netflix in the uk but I like the idea.
They are giving away tanks? Where? Osama wants me to go get some.
Got a roku yesterday. Probably sending it back on Saturday. The quality of Netflix's Watch Instantly is really, really low. And it's so limited otherwise.
Grappling with either a Mac Mini or AppleTV instead as both of those can use Hulu, CBS.com, etc. The Mac Mini and AppleTV also output to 1080p and the Mac Mini allows for Netflix Watch instantly still - should they improve performance or I decide to torture myself again.
Check this before you return it, might help you out!

what is your internet speed????
how many dots are u getting on roku?
netflix streaming is pretty damn good, it has to be your connection or netflix servers
many not al roku users and xbox 360 users have been having problems since a few weeks before the xbox netflix went online
thats supposed to be fixed soon as well as lower bitrate video (but at 0 quality loss)
Netflix adjusts the quality based on your connection speed. so you may be SOL.
Yes I think so. Though it is a little expensive.
