T-Mobile G1 now available in frosty white

We've heard that it's been showing up on doorsteps and in stores for a few days now, but T-Mobile has just officially given the word that the G1 is now available in white to complement bronze and the especially personality-free black (not to say there's anything wrong with that, black G1 owners). The price, hardware, and software are all the same, so if you thought this release might somehow magically bring a soft keyboard with it, think again. Any guesses what -- if any -- future colors we might see on this puppy?

I saw one of these in-person today at the courthouse (got a speeding ticket), IMO, it made the G1 Look cheaper than it does normally (not hatin', just that the plastics they used make it look cheap for some reason). Unless you make the plastic shiny (like apple) or pearled (like any brushed aluminum/plastic like ASUS), it just looks clunky and cheap. A plastic of that quality might get dirtier easier as well (ala white DS Lite). Just some thoughts...

Somewhat old news.

I just picked up a white one today. There are 2 worries:
a. salesperson has mentioned that the white may easily chip. Known issue, hopefully fixed by now.
b. the white is a matte finish. Somewhat cheap, but different. I'm going to put a blue silicon cover on it anyway.
c. I wish they put the space bar a bit more to the left.

Otherwise, it's not as swag as the iphone, but it's faster (processor AND 3G) and easier to program apps for it! Battery life about the same and it looks like it will survive a drop better.
