Dual-core VIA Nano processor apparently on track for June 2010

We've been hearing about a dual-core VIA Nano processor for some time now, but it looks like things are now finally starting to firm up a bit, as evidenced by the seemingly legit roadmap pictured above. Unfortunately, there's not much more to go on than what's in the image, though we're sure plenty of folks will be relieved to learn that the processor will, in fact, boast "new process technology," not to mention "further performance enhancement." What's more, as you can see, it looks like the first samples will be available by December of next year, which mostly lines up with what we had heard previously, while mass production will apparently get underway in June of 2010.

I don't care if you're an Intel or AMD fan guys and I don't care which processor is better. In the end all I care is the price and thanks to VIA competition, Intel has to step it up a bit too. THANK YOU! VIA!

Isn't that a bit *far* off?

LOL dead on, 2010? a dual core 2.0Ghz processor which only just outdoes the current Atom? this sounds ridiculous.
Imagine what Intel has planned for 2009 let alone 2010. I would think an Atom processor more powerful than any present conventional PC Dual Core, except maybe the i7.

That is quite a LONG time to wait, only to fall behind Intel, who may have a quad-core Atom (or more powerful dual) by then.
As much as I *LOVE* mini/nano/pico-itx stuff, I bet it will still be much too high priced compared to Intel's offerings.
VIA better come out with a superstar processor, and keep the price competitive, or no one is going to buy it.
I hope they also step up on the inputs/outputs, as well (S/PDIF in & out, multiple video out options, built-in CF/SDHC slots, etc).
Here's hopin'! =@)

Thanks to Via, Intel and AMD have 18 months to double CPU speed, and shrink their cores to "compete" with the dual nano.
Terrifical.

Am I missing something?
It's great to talk about the new dual core, but haven't they also got to get the existing single core into some products? I've been reading Engadget for ages and haven't seen any netbook products yet, bar one which I don't believe is currently available at this time.
I had high hopes for the Via Nano but even HP has moved to the Atom.

I really dont get this CPU race, by the time they
get this out intel will have quad core Atom or
a more powerful 2core Atom.
by 2010 desktop processors will have 8 cores, lol

The single core Nnao has no relevance in December of 2008. I doubt a dual core Nano will have any more relevance in December of 2010. So sad considering all of the hope the masses had for the chip...
