Samsung's YP-P3 becomes a reality -- thanks, FCC
Well, what do you know? That Samsung YP-P3, which was rumored back in May, is more than just a figment of someone's vivid imagination. Thanks to the wonderful FCC, we now know that Sammy is pressing for approval to release its next-generation PMP here in the States, though that's absolutely all that we know right now. There's no attached user manual, no splendid internal / external photos and no other juicy details to pore over. But let's focus on the positive, shall we? The P3 is for real, and it's coming soon.

If that cowon S9 is $150 or less, and doesnt need video conversions, the P3 will truely be laughed at.

If pigs fly to the moon and back without fuel, humans will truly be laughed at.

@gad get
1.No swine has "flown" to the moon
2.If they were to fly, they would need wings (not fuel)
Therefore, no human is being laughed at... maybe just you

Here's an obvious choice for you: Future Shop has the 8 GB iPod Touch on sale right now for $229.99, and the 16 GB Samsung P2 on sale for $199.99. The same models are regularly priced at $239.99 and $269.99, respectively. Even at those prices, I'd take the P2 any day of the year. Plus, there's a possibility of seeing even better prices on the P2, since discounts aren't limited to a paltry $10.
Did I mention the P2 has easily one of the slickest interfaces around (next to iPods), superior battery life, far superior sound quality, FM radio (don't give me the Steve Jobs crap about nobody even using FM radio anymore; he just wants everyone to rely solely on iTunes to acquire and listen to songs), better codec support, some really sweet bluetooth functionality, and an already excellent feature list that is being constantly expanded and updated by firmware updates.
Oh yeah, and last but not least, this post is about the P3, not the P2. So shut your pickled pie hole.

I agree that now that i have had my Touch for a while, I wouldn't whitch to a pmp without apps, wifi and a browser. Also the integrated music store is something I use more than I expected.
But lets just wait an see the final product, before we write it off ;-)

P2 is a great player! but unfortunately i don't have the habit to carry bags around, so i just stick to my iPhone for music. :/

I agree about the FM part. There is only one reason for not putting an FM receiver in: Profit. Less development and prod. cost. Increesed iTunes sales. Apple is old school greedy. Incredible that so many people think otherwise.
However, the massive list of applications, and the slim and durable design of the iPod Touch would still make me choose the iPod over this one, and use my phone for FM. But who cares anyway. This thread is about the YP-P3.

I own the P2, my second after i dropped and chipped the 1st one--sold it and bought an other one-- and i can say after using it its perfect "for me", if u want a slick touch screen (mind you the touch screen is a smooth as i have even seen.. no problems) music player and a movie player and a couple of games and FM RADIO ( after u get bored of listening to your music collection) with bluetooth support( maybe you might wish to transfer music from your phone to the P2 or just use the P2 as a bluetooth headset ...etc) then go for the P2
..if you want to do more than just listen to music and watch videos.. then go for the ipod simple as that
other than that i cant wait to see what the P3 brings to the table.. i might even sell the one i have now and pick up the P3 :-)
