Nokia introduces Home Music WiFi radio
Hot on the heals of today's look at the N97, Nokia has dropped the dime on Home Music, the company's first internet radio. Meant for the office or smart home, the device features WiFi and Ethernet connectivity, as well as the usual USB port, aux line-in, analog and digital outs. For those of you who kick it old school once in a while, it also sports an FM receiver and a 10W speaker. No pricing or shipping date yet, but you'll know as soon as we do. In the mean time, hit the read link for more specs and info.[Via Electronista]

But, does it make phone calls?
Too many Nokia posts today, I'll sit this one out... a good 24 house should do it.
How can you measure in houses.
How can you ask questions that end with a period?
Does it act like a one station intercom?
Was there a change of power at Engadget we weren't told about? All of the sudden... More Nokia posts then Apple posts?!? Clearly this is a mistake. Someone is getting fired!
You likely knew this, but Nokia's doing a big event today (and tomorrow, IIRC), and Apple isn't.
Sadly yes. I did know. I was just having fun...
It's ok BlurMagic... I got the joke.
It makes no sense to me to make a home table radio and not put AM in it. Are AM tuners that hard to implement or something?
AM is american oddity these days. Rest of the world has left it for international world service..
People still use AM? :P
Next will be the portable nokia jack off machine....... Complete with a chrome steel bezel....
For the people complaining that Nokia is getting more posts than Apple, you do know it's the Nokia world conference today?
If this was an Apple conference, Engadget would probably be doing live coverage all day long, following each and every Steve Jobs speech. But hey, I'm not complaining that Nokia at least got some posts.
Don't forget that they'd have a banner at the top of the page saying 'iPhone 3G. The only review you need' and keep it up there for about 3 months.
I'm just glad Nokia is finally getting good coverage from Engadget. By the way, I wonder why none of the Engadget US team were at Nokia world? Weren't you invited? No-one wanted to go?
I mean... Even Gizmodo were there and they're the ULTIMATE Apple fanboys. They've only got ONE bland post on the N97.
We did go -- Drita is a full-fledged member of our team, and Engadget Spanish is just as important to us as Classic, Mobile, and HD. Why would we fly someone out to Spain when we've got a team member living there?
Not touchscreen??
I wonder if this is based on Nokia's linux platform, like the N800, N810?
Anyone know?
What does "drop the dime" mean ...?
heels not heals
Sounds like more and more big companies are introducing Internet radios..
@Skorpius:
Check out the RCA RIR200 if you're looking for an Internet Radio with AM. Cheaper than any other with even more functionality than most.
What Nokia doesn't ever get is that it's not the specs but the usability of the UI that really counts. Now the iPhone... wait... where am I?
I long for the day when there is a home/office radio that incorporates HD Radio, satellite radio, and Internet radio all in one (along with iPod functionality). Is this too much to ask?
Your answer is in the Denon S-52. Although, it's gonna cost you a fortune!
Does the FM receiver have RDS?
This looks great. I have an internet radio in the kitchen to get Japanese radio stations for my wife (we're in the UK so FM doesn't get them obviously). But thats all it does.
Having FM built in is a good addition, and the UPnP if it works will be useful to stream music to it.
Wonder if the USB connectivity will support Ipod? :P
What? No HD?
