Nokia N97 hands-on
If you're like us, you haven't seen nearly enough of the N97 yet... right? Well fear not, faithful reader, as our intrepid comrade from Engadget Spanish, Drita, has nabbed a tasty hands-on with the phone in question. As you can tell from the pics, it's not quite as thin as its nearest competitors, but fairly sleek and stylish all the same (metal bezel and all), and that QWERTY keyboard looks practically edible. We're salivating at the thought of getting one to thoroughly put through its paces, but until then, let's all just sit back and soak in the handsome gallery below.
Update: Make sure you check out Drita's video hands-on as well!

Amazingly superb. Now that's why Nokia is ahead of there competition, .. i would wait for this phn to get in the markets .
I love this phone. If I could wait it out for my upgrade, I'd hold out for this.
Why oh why couldn't Nokia have included the same Xenon flash from the N82?..
Just load Android onto this and I'd be in heaven...
Am I the only one who noticed the little weed holder propping up the phone? You know, the little film canister.
i dont know what to think anymore. I have an iPhone 3G but since I have been playing with the Nokia N85 that I won* at the reader meetup (THANKS AGAIN GUYS!!) I am starting to think maybe I could like with an N series Nokia. Just the sheer number of features Nokia includes (can you say built in FM transmitter? WHAT?!) might be enough to sway me from my iPhone. The widgets could replace all the apps that I barely use anyway.
*Don't Hate.
Couldn't hurt that you'd be able to configure it with a $15/month data plan instead of the $30/month one that the iPhone has.
Great... download some rouge app and its even more easier for any idiot to know EXACTLY where u r, what u r doing... maybe i'm paranoid, but i'll feel very uncomfortable carrying this phone in my pocket...
does anyone no when its due for release :D?
What about the N96?? I thought i was a nice upgrade from the 95.
I want one, droooooooooool aghhhhhhhhhhhhh
Not only that, but isn't that a block of resin being used to stick the phone to the canister?
Look out kids, use of drugs leads to destructive phone fetishism!
please whenever I conect my phone to my Pc does not work
@Tes
I totally agree with you, this IS the tube but the QWERTY keyboard isn't really necessary.
It would be better if there was a compact wireless keypad which will reduce the price, thickness and other stuff. Or a wireless keyboard that can be paired with the N97 via Bluetooth I think? Since this phone has a resistive touchscreen, I guess the QWERTY keypad is needed. The Iphone is just lacking simple features like MMS, I think copying and pasting but this can be resolved in the future. In my opinion the N97 is slightly better than the Iphone.
Is it true that the N97 has more apps than the Iphone?
I'll tell you why thicker isn't good, ever try to put it in our bra strap in front? I used to carry my motorola Rizr that way and forget it was there til it rang. Also,, how about no pockets and your walking around the house and you just want to stick it inside your shorts top??? Those things are so important to me. I love my N95, there are two things about it I don't love and only those two mostly. the keys lettering is fading off and the thickness!
I don't reaaly agree that N97 looks that much great and stylish, I'd more agree with this post

I think Omnia looks much more attractive and is more comfortable.
