It has something similar. It's called Download! and it's been available for longer than the app store.

new nokia is so ugly. there is a reason for every little detail on the iphone, that is why other phones are not as good, they think just because it looks similar people will buy it but features and user interface will make iphone tops any day.

By owning an iPhone, it's kind of a statement one makes about what type of user they are - they're more concerned with the ease-of-use, overall integration with itunes, Apps store, etc than they are with it's exact technical specs of the handset. I severely doubt that these types would be interested in switching to a phone where they'd have to go back to digging through layers and layers of menus and unintuitive navigation just to gain some technical features...and anyway, when I was living in Japan, my phone could take high res pics, but they still looked like they were taken with a camera phone - if you want high res pics, buy a camera.
