Intel's Core i7 Extreme Edition 965 overclocked to 5.5GHz

Right, so Intel's 3.73GHz Core i7 Extreme Edition 965 is fast enough for the vast majority of PC users across the globe, but not for Japanese overclocking enthusiast duck. Oh no -- duck decided to pair the chip up with ASUS' ROG Rampage II Extreme motherboard, which facilitates hardware-based OC'ing, in order to reach a top speed of 5510.09MHz. The point of the exercise? Just to say he could, not to mention set the bar for OC Team Italy to try and demolish.

I want to know why none of the big tech sites are reporting about the Core i7 TLB bug.

The Phenom is released, has TLB bug, media goes ape about the issue.

Core i7 is released,has TLB bug, Intel confirms this, no one could care less.

The Phenom's were fine after a BIOS/Software Patch and so are the Core i7's, but why are the media NOT reporting about Core i7's TLB bug? Why isn't it getting the same amount of slating the Phenom did?

wow, I had not heard about a core i7 TLB bug, dude, talk about haters. AMD just RAPED this record with the new phenom II's BTW, it WAS at 5.9Ghz at CES, I heard its past there now, somewhere closer to 6.2 or something. GO AMD!!!!

Wow I just realized since he OC'd it by 1.3ghz, he nearly OC'd it to my cpu's stock speed of 2.4ghz. LOL my processor makes me feel like I'm using an old piece of junk (yea I realize this is probably true for a of I built in 2006 and upgraded many components on). I guess I'll hold out until core i7 motherboards, core i7 CPUs and ddr3 ram is cheaper.
