Logitech serves one-billionth mouse
Look, we're not going to go and get all sappy about Logitech shipping it's billionth mouse. After all, we still prefer our fingers for pointing and keyboards for quick navigation around the ol' computer. Still, a claim of one billion served is always notable, be it computer peripherals or hamburgers. Logitech's very first mouse was the Logitech P4 introduced in 1982. For the very first mouse ever, you'll have to contact Douglas Engelbart, its inventor. Or just click on over the break for pics of the P4 and Engelbarts original toothless sawblade.

Would you like that served on a wireless keyboard?
Awesome, I just bought one last night. maybe it was the 1 billionth one - Its a great mouse.
You may hear from McDonalds lawyers on this graphic.
I laughed because I thought they were taken a stab at McDonald's for serving mice!
I think Logitech is the only tech company that has never disaponted me. I have 3 Logitech mice and have not even considered buying a mouse from anyone else for at least a decade.
I have a Harmony remote that may have saved my marriage (or my sanity). I even used a set of 5.1 Logitech speakers as my TV/DVD speakers for a couple of years.
Their stuff works, is well built and comes with software that does it's job and doesn't get in my way.
Happy Billion Logitech!
I think my Dell mouse is made by Logitech! LOL
Logitech fanboy here.
I certainly helped them along the way on this one.
Logitech rules!
Scrolling this article on my Logitech mouse :D
A billion eh? Maybe its time I bought a Logitech mouse... I need to replace my Kensington anyway. The scroll wheel is broken and sometimes it makes me want to punch a hobo.
i have 6, 3 keyboards 2 webcams and 1 universal remote 100% loyal customer )))))
And Africa has about 500 Millions of them.
I am not surprised by this, Logitech have always make good quality mice (I am currently using my G5) and this is obviously shown in the good sales they have had.
and the customer service is on par as well. I have two mx 5000 mouse+keyboard their speakers and webcam which i am looking to upgrade to their orbit cam and z-2300's. the only thing i am missing is their undies...lol nah not that big of a fan
I don't know if I'm such a huge fan of Logitech. I have a wireless mouse of theirs and the thing eats AA batteries like my old Mazda MX-5 ate gasoline. But the mouse has the best responsiveness of any mouse I've ever used, so . . . I guess I can deal with poor battery life.
I just got a VX Nano the other day....maybe I'm the billionth one....maybe.
On top of that I had a V450 that the receiver shorted out on (that's why I got the VX) and I think every mouse for my family's desktop for the last god knows how many years have been Logitechs. Its like they make good stuff or something
just bought my third logitech mouse last night... 3 computers - 3 logitech mice... coincidence... i think not.
A+ for Logitech - Quality Products and Good Customer Service / Warranty
Now this is impressive. Congrats Logitech!
I currently have 3 Logitech products - Z4 speakers, G15 keyboard, and G5 mouse...and I love 'em all :D
Never realised how much I rely on Logitech lol
I wish they'd bring back the Trackman Marble FX. That was the best trackball ever! Please go to www.logitech.com and lobby to bring this back. You can also post comments in the blog: http://blog.logitech.com/2008/12/03/one-billion-logitech-mice/
Let get this puppy back (at least for a limited production run...)
Great mice. But excellent customer service. I've worn out 3 in the last five years and each time, they have been replaced under warranty with a better model. Last time it was an MX revolution. Next time I'll actually have to buy a new mouse..
No interrogation, no hassle. And the replacement was always with me within a few days. Brand new each time.
Not bad for a £40 Amazon purchase with a 5 year warranty.
Maybe that One Billionth mouse was MX1100 that I have arriving today via UPS. I've also previously owned an MX700, MX1000, and got my brother an MX Revolution. Today I will have the MX1100. :D
