I'm all for progressing for smaller more power efficient PC's, and that's why i have a shuttle KPC as my home server. Now is a little smaller, limited upgradable box worth another $150 to you? Buy a shuttle KPC and a intel dual core for $150 and you've got a more powerful machine with capable of a faster core 2 duo if you ever wanted, in the future.
Via is headed in the right direction, but this should be no more than $175....hardware progress forwards, price progress backwards, true to the business model....mo money, mo problems. I'll wait for one to pop up on ebay in a year or more till I even think about this thing again.
$299= 1.5ghz non upgradable small cute box OR $299= Shuttle KPC, 2.0ghz intel dual core, 2gb's of ram and a 1tb hard drive.....hmmmm oh yea, forgot the KPC is a cute little box too. I also forgot, the shuttle has a kit to setup to buy and install a optical drive, wow
I think I crapped out a cute little black thing like the via, and it was waaay cheaper. Don't buy into the hype, make them compete in price and speed.
