The been-there-done-that competition of the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii are a total yawn this holiday season, so we thought we'd give you a console war with a few more
interlocking plastic building blocks mixed in to keep things interesting. These two otherwise-unrelated
case mods each bring their own strengths to the competition: while the Lego PSX mod might be more technically impressive, it looks totally amateurish next to the classy Lego NES stylings. But, like with all things in life, there can only be one winner. This is America, after all.

yopladas @ Dec 13th 2008 6:07PM
I said "cool" not "desperate".
iCandy @ Dec 13th 2008 6:05PM
The lego NES looks less pixelated than the games it plays...
Dr. Jeckle and Mr Hyde anyone?
schmitty338 @ Dec 13th 2008 9:15PM
You people just high-ranked him because of his avatar, and I can't say I blame you...
Max maruszewski @ Dec 13th 2008 6:12PM

Personally I think my shopper chopper is cooler.
Max maruszewski @ Dec 13th 2008 6:13PM
Oh and one more thing.
I would like credit to also be given to Doug West as well.
Chris Are @ Dec 13th 2008 6:24PM
You're thanking them, even though they called your creation "amateurish" looking. :-)
Still, I'm impressed. I could never even build the design they had on the box.
Samboini @ Dec 13th 2008 6:32PM
Max, this is very impressive but one side of me still wants to obliterate it with my fist.
No offense.
Max maruszewski @ Dec 13th 2008 6:27PM
Hey I got noticed by them.
I did not ask submit or tell them to post this.
They did, and that makes me happy.
Cant wait till Doug gets his pandora. we are going to lego that too.
This time its not going to suck.
Tim @ Dec 13th 2008 6:31PM
I think they're bricked!
Fred @ Dec 13th 2008 6:37PM
I'd think that with almost unlimited creative freedom those could be quite a bit more elegant in their design. Like, keep the basic internal structure for securing the parts and then just go nuts. Could be way awesome. Maybe build a lego Mario level around the NES or something like that?
Starvine @ Dec 13th 2008 6:49PM
Is this all it would have taken to finish the SNES-CD, Nintendo and Sony? To make your cases out of Legos? Harmony is a shiny blue brick.
Jigen @ Dec 13th 2008 7:03PM
So they take the innards of real NES and PSX consoles... and put them in a box-shaped Lego case?...
They could have at least made it into something; a house, a castle, a spacestation... something Legomen can walk in and out of. Then I can play with it even when the console isn't on.

TavisJohn @ Dec 13th 2008 7:13PM
Sorry but not related. You need to find or make a Lego N64 case and post it here, THEN it would be related! :D
Artie Lange @ Dec 13th 2008 7:18PM
Do they only play those Star Wars and Indy Jones Lego games?
Oli D @ Dec 13th 2008 7:21PM
Is there anything Lego can't do?
User7 @ Dec 13th 2008 7:29PM
Lego has yet to get me laid! ( too many sharp edges )
Jorvay @ Dec 14th 2008 8:54AM
My girlfriend first went for me after we bonded over much talk of our love for lego. Lego can get you laid.
Al Bundy @ Dec 13th 2008 8:09PM
yeah, but that NES is a few decades behind the PSX.
carbonrain @ Dec 13th 2008 8:50PM
awesome!
linuxamp @ Dec 13th 2008 10:08PM
I wish I could make these but my wife only buys me mega bloks.
Daniel @ Dec 13th 2008 10:21PM
Haha! YES! Me and my friend (Danny) made the NES lego case mod!
NERV @ Dec 13th 2008 10:26PM
Those creations r the tits!
usedHONDA @ Dec 13th 2008 11:03PM
Heh. I've taken apart my PSX and made a cardboard box case for it. Didn't take long, barely any work. Just did it to make use of a system with an expired warranty. NOT taking apart my NES though; worth too much (physically and sentimentally).
Blaine @ Dec 14th 2008 12:59AM
"This is America"
No, this is the net.
