There's a good possibility you felt some sense of jealously when eying RDC's meticulously
modded Xbox 360, and now you can act on said envy thanks to the supreme convenience of the online auction house known as eBay. That's right kids -- the slot loading Xbox 360 that was shown here just under a month ago is now on the auction block, and the $250 minimum bid means that you're paying a ridiculously small premium for all the blood, sweat and tears that were undoubtedly poured into this creation. Of course, that figure is apt to head skyward in a hurry, but maybe that would encourage you to get off your keister and craft one yourself. No time like the present to beef up that weakening
DIY muscle.

Hrm... funny how my WII has been doing that since it launched.
:-P
As anyone notice most of the early bids is from someone with 0 rep? (Scam)
or perhaps he just made an account to buy solely one item? we all once had zero rep dude I guess we will have to find out but you could be right as is this 'modification' really worth that much? i suppose you are just paying for some uniqueness.
I used Ebay only few times but I also noticed something wierd: I offered my first PS3 hack (with touch screen, Nwifi, voice commands, push e-mail, Bluetooth headphones/mic & desktop, etc.) for 600$ and sold it 48 hours later @ 1100$ , so a month later I offered an (very much) improved version @ 750$ and it proved impossible to sell.
After 2 months I pulled it off and hacked my hack into a HTPC/entertrainement center I was working on ATT.
Something is rotten in the kingdom of eBay.
Who has the servers and bandwith to set up a worthy alternative?
Hes selling it cause hes scared he will get another rrod so he has moved to a reliable console the ps3. Beware buy at own risk 99% chance of rrod and no warranty.
So why is the PS3 flopping so badly?
1. It's the most expensive console on the market, $150 - $200 more than its rivals. Even if you believe the video game industry is "recession-proof" (it isn't), a tanking economy makes consumers more price-conscious.
2. The PS3's big bonus is its ability to double as a Blu-Ray player. Too bad no one seems to care about hi-def DVDs. The differences between Blu-Ray and DVD are hard to see on a TV less than 50".
3. The PS3 just doesn't have any must-have titles exclusive to the console. "LittleBigPlanet" has generated decent buzz but isn't a game-changer, and neither is Sony's new virtual world "Home."
Greg you copied those 3 reasons from another site.... If its so bad can't you come up with others more objective?
At Greg
Thanks for that Copy and paste Info lol
So what are you trying to say is whoever buy that 360 for over $250 is $hit head right?
NO blue-ray player even if you don't use it
No HDMI
No Wifi
NO Hard Drive
Lets see who is dumb enough should we?
http://www.360drives.com/images/xbox360-hdmi.jpg
it DOES have hdmi.

Of course it's a copy/paste but, they're the same reasons I never bought a PS3 and probably never will. The modded xbox is a novelty and nerd-tastic but to pay over $250 for an old xbox with a hack? Fools and their money...
nice, slot loader! but is it quieter???

thanks for the redundancy
Hmm, maybe Engadget would care to advertise my crap on eBay too later when I post it; that would be so neat. Seriously... this is a modded xbox for sale by private party, nothing to see (or report about) here. Slow day finding something actually NEW to write about?
Wonder how many people forgot to read the description of the item to notice that there is no HDMI. Thank kills it for me.
