I have the same problem I always want to go to these things but i am only 12
i'm 14 and i live in alabama. :(

Wish I was in the big apple, partying it up with a bunch of gadget gurus...Florida sucks.
I had a GREAT TIME.
They raffled off lots of cool stuff. Nokia phones, TMobile G1, a bunch of those "Peek" devices and lots of othjer cool stuff like cameras and frames.
I got there at 5:40 and waited till 7 in COLD. I didn't get inside till 7:30 cause there were at least 2000 people on line. Some old lady was snapping at us to get from in front of her house cause she was trying to shovel.
Highlights of the evening:
I met Ryan Block
I got a free drink ticket - I got a Sprite with a Lime
Didn't win any raffle prizes but I still had fun.
TIPS FOR NEXT TIME ENGADGET.
#1 You need a bigger place. 2000 in a room designed for less than 1000 doesn't work.
#2 You need MORE FOOD. When I got there it was like they were handing out cheese. And there were like 3 pieces left.
#3 CHECK THE WEATHER BEFORE HAND.
Otherwise - Great show !
The guy with that huge Blackberry Storm mockup won it in a raffle. NOBODY WANTED IT and EVERYONE WAS LAUGHING AT HIM !
When they tried to give it away, everyone was booing.
"This 5'9 Blackberry Storm comes chained to a 2 year contract"
LOL
I just wish there was free public wifi at this place. Maybe even an Apple table with USB cables.
ALMOST EVERYONE on line had iPhones/3G's and by the time we got inside, our batteries were almost dead.

Why is SO Dark and why the sound is SO Crappy.. that's all the engadget the heart of technology can do ?
I don't know about you people but I 'm kind of disappointed.
No wonder why the viewers are lower than150 until now.
Yeah sound is clipping and the camera has a too low a sensitivity, I think this sound is in fact able to make you lose your hearing in short order.
Oh and the camera is out of focus too, tisk tisk, you gotta be sober, set it up, then get drunk/high, not the other way round.
