...says the "cool guy" sitting at him all alone online on a Friday night reading about an event where people are socializing...
Obviously you must think I live in New York, which must only mean you live in New York, cool guy!
No, there's no way that's obvious or even remotely deducible. P>Q =/= ~P>~Q
So did the "FIRST" guy show up...or better yet turned invisible?
You know who all the cool dudes are at the party because they're the blue ones.
wow, there's so many people! are your mom's invited? :P
come to Montreal sometime... pretty please... Ubisoft, EA and Eidos have offices here. Also home to at least three video game testing outsourcing companies, I know (such a vague term) at least a hundred people who would show.

Also lots of good DJ for cheap.
I'd be there if I could take the car out, but the parents are over protective. Anyone wanna give me a ride? :)
I'm only an hour away. :)
You do realize they will check ID right?
Say, yes never mind, so you don't look like an idiot.
No hes 37...
was ryan block there?
Ryan Block was there, as well as Veronica Belmont and Peter Rojas!
OMFG im soooooo mad I couldn't make it. I am helping someone with a final paper and now I want to kill her.
Swordfight
I would have loved to be there. i showed up an hour early and the line was down the block and around the corner! i then went and got food (and drinks) and came back at 8pm, and there was still a line to get in. Hope you guys are having a blast. Sorry i couldnt be there!
Audio from the live video feed is absolutely horrible. Did you not test audio before going on?
Cool party...I took the pic of the guy in the Cheetha santa hat and the Peek. The Peek Team guys were really cool and amazing what you can do in such a short time. The Peek is actually pretty cool and if you wanna cut down that phone bill you might wanna look at it as an option.
The Ovi technology is pretty nice. I'd love to have that on my phone. You pretty much just snap a pic and upload it to the service. So I guess it then generates this slide show.
Most people there want just the free ish and then where ready to bounce. I left around 8:30ish! Anyway have fun dude and if the Peek Team is reading this give me a shout out.
Mike, were you the dude outside with the button cap that was by the people that kept slipping on the slick steel thing on the curb?
Damn. That was a long sentence.
my bf slipped on that metal sheet thing... nothing a martini couldn't fix. But damn, they were 14 bucks a pop!
@ Makemagazine: Use fedex or something next time. Really. Call me old fashioned, but I would have really liked going home with a magazine I might be interested in subscribing to... especially after an hour and 30 in a freezing line.
My recap: everyone was pretty into their thing and respected everyone else. Except for, the fat guys body-blocking the stairways who apparently came from some bum-funk village in the back-country and don't understand the concept of a walkway or even a squeeze-way. One of those a-holes actually responded to my pardon with a shove in the back as I was mid-stair.
So awesome.
These guys look more hip than the Giz crowd. I'll give you that.
I haven't seen this many Nerds in one place since I toured the Willy Wonka Factory
no comment.
*blink.........................................blink, blink.
If youve seen the dark night, then you have seen the navy pier. Isnt it nice. Ive been there a few times and i noticed that it has a giant room inside where they hold all sorts of LARGE events -HINT-HINT-WINK-WINK! All im saying is that it wouldnt hurt to come to chicago and hold the meet up at navy pier. come on... we have a ton of 3G!
In ct we got a foot of snow and I really wanna go but I'm 13 and it sucks so badd
everyone who went I hope you guys have fun! I was #35 on the line to get in and I won a Kodak Easyshare W1020. It was totally fun and I will do it again. joseph man, we have to exchange emails.
lmao there was some crazy drunk guy calling us geeks then he said he was going to press charges unless they put him in the front of the line. good times!
So... how did the massive circle jerk on the iPhone go? I'm so killed that I missed that one.
I had a blast. Need more memes and need more prizes...except Peeks.
Greetings from SF
Your time now you should be asleep or working geek magic on one of those awesome femme tech nerds they make now! Thanks for another year of 100% minimum awesome!
Dude, it's New York, not Hollywood.

im just a little annoyed that the laptop and xbox went to people that pretty much to people who waited less than 30 minutes to get in, as opposed to the first few hundreds who waited at least 2 hours in the freezing cold that only came home with a shirt and a $10 microSD card that probably costs less getting to this event....
clearly, it wasn't the greatest incentive to have people willing to wait 2-3 hours outside, only to come in and get hit in the face with cheese and a t shirt
Hm, I'm indifferent towards this.
Engadget, please do one in Europe in a year and 2 weeks! I'll be pass the age limit then and won't have to spend a shitload on a flight ticket and sit 10 hours on a plane! :p
What's with the complaints!?!?
Even if they're giving out Kraft Singles and refurbished Discman's, you DO have the option to leave.
You just can't please some people...
Bugger off. I subsisted entirely on a diet of kraft singles and bread for nearly a year... when I was about 8.
And my discman DOES need replacing...
that was pretty good, but next time PLEASE have wifi. and thanks for having my iPhone in the slideshow!
oh, and befoer i forget, i was upset that i didn't get to get everyone's responses to how they think that Net Neutrality as a form of media; i know that time was short, and you guys did a great job, but i feel like there was more that everyone wanted to say. any way we could get into this further?
i also think that you guys have more influence on other forms of media including other blogs, than you think, which in turn have influence over manufacturers. the folio was naught but an example. can't wait for the next meet up!
thnx for deleting the comments losers... UR EVENT STILL SUCKED AND IT IS STILL A FAIL ... thnx for showing how much freedom and opinions the readers have
-.-
Thanks Engadget for the event!! It's good that many enjoyed it. Of course, not everyone that attended the event will walk away with a positive experience. Here's another side of the story: http://sadntrue.wordpress.com/2008/12/20/engadget-nyc-party/
Wish I could have been there! I would have loved it! To bad I'm all the way over in Utah :( Otherwise I'd be there!
Are these comments all faked. The event was horrible. No food, alcohol was wateried down. The hosts had no clue how to host and took about 2 hours to give away like 20 prizes......i can't believe they also added 50 comments by fake people about how good it was.
