bill cant fart @ Dec 20th 2008 5:11PM
As soon as you turn 18.

Most of the questions last night were lame and obviously not well planned out.
One person asked about being an Engadget editor and whether or not they get free "shit". The Engadget crew replied,: "its moral for them to return their testers when they are done"
The Raffle giveaway was alot of fun, and a bit dissapointing cause I didn't win. But they did giveaway great prizes:
A G1, a bunch of PEEK's, a couple Nokia cellphones, a Kodak camera and Kodak digital frames and some other desktop gadgets.
I was just so suprised there was no Apple rep and no Microsoft Rep. If there was a Microsoft rep, I missed him - but definitely no Apple rep. So what you had was over a 1000 people with iPhones...no way to recharge em and no free wifi to use.
Hopefully, next time there is a Engadget NYC, they will hold it in a grand ballroom - even if people have to pay to get in - and hopefully it will have more food, wifi and amenities cause last night, drinks were $4 and only the first 500 got a drink ticket.

Also - for a meet and greet, I'm suprised Engadget didn't give out name tags. I was there last night and I only told two people who I was: Ryan Block and one guy who wanted his iPhone unlocked.
The crowd kept looking for i.eye and Clak. If they were there...they kept themselves on the down low.
Ryan Block @ Dec 20th 2008 5:24PM
It was great to finally meet you!
Flashpoint @ Dec 20th 2008 5:40PM
I don't even remember how I started on Engadget, but I love the site. You guys are awesome.
cwj @ Dec 20th 2008 6:03PM
One guy claimed he was Clak during the raffle, for some reason none of us seemed to believe him.
Rob Conway @ Dec 20th 2008 6:07PM
dude, Ryan's like my best friend on Facebook! he's always posting these inspirational messages on my Wall. it's awesome.
Oh wait, he is my FB friend but we've never exchanged a word. maybe I'll go post something on his wall right now, then we can become best friends and he'll totally join my band. fine, i don't even have a band. why do you guys keep letting me tell these lies????
RioRyan @ Dec 20th 2008 6:08PM
What the hell, guys, why does the Zune link still say EngadgetHD on it?
Paul @ Dec 20th 2008 6:52PM
My iTunes app on my iPhone won't show this podcast. The latest one available is December 12th. :-/
waterwagen @ Dec 20th 2008 11:10PM
Sometimes the iTunes app on the iPhone/iPod Touch has a delay before a podcast shows up. Up to a day sometimes. Seems to happen more often with Engadget and gdgt podcasts ironically.
shuref00t @ Dec 21st 2008 12:13AM
I'm sure there would've been plenty more folks wanting to ask questions if they knew they'll be on the podcast.
NYC Reader Meet-Up was fun, despite me not winning anything either. 620!!! Just one number away from scoring that 4GB Zune. Haha!
glazeddonuts @ Dec 21st 2008 12:59AM
I wanted to attend but snow on the roads kept me from being able to drive to the train station (life in the suburbs, man!)
a ham sandwich @ Dec 21st 2008 1:23AM
i understand that everyone wanted their presents, but i still wish that the Q&A was longer! i was enjoying it!
Tom @ Dec 21st 2008 8:55AM
Being an Engadget fans for too long I missed out on the party and now Q&A arrghhh. I wonder if there is a text what was said in Q&A? Thanks in advance.

how come when i download the podcast from my iphone it shows up as a video thus not allowing me to listen to it when i turn the screen off?
Nilay Patel @ Dec 21st 2008 12:42PM
This is a weird issue that pops up every now and again -- we're working on it with the iTunes people, bear with us.
Victorious @ Dec 22nd 2008 7:17PM
I discovered that it is a problem when you download it off the air. If you connect to a computer it should fix the problem for now.
Greg K @ Dec 28th 2008 8:55PM
I had that same problem but it seems to work ok if you turn off the screen then double tap the button on your iPhone to bring up the MP3 control, then press play. Hope this works for you too
Happy Reader @ Dec 22nd 2008 8:36AM
RE the Gizmodo guys: For the record, I took them off my feed reader because I like you guys better ;)!
