HTC MAX 4G gets a proper unboxing in Russia
Oh, HTC. Why do you tease us? For the legions of phone fanatics not located in Russia, the images hosted up in the read link are about as close as you all will ever get to Yota's HTC MAX 4G. The world's first GSM + WiMAX handset has been acquired by an evidently affluent individual who reportedly threw down around $1,300 in greenbacks in exchange for this gem. Those familiar with the HTC Touch HD won't find too many dissimilarities, but we'll stop bothering you with these "words" and allow you to give the images some careful attention.

actually in Asia Iphone was getting a kick in the nuts...but hell...who am i to say the contrary...
I personally agree with you Uncontrol. Speaking nothing of the software of the phones, I prefer the aesthetics of most new all-touchscreen phones when compared to the iPhone.
Lets hope they get away from windows mobile
Until a truly viable alternative comes along, it ain't gonna happen.
Several for sale on ebay from a guy in Moscow. $1250 + Shipping. Looks nice.
The battery life will probably suck ass, just like all the other current HTC smart phones. My Touch Pro just barely lasts me through a whole day of moderate use, and I heard the G1 isn't any better. I don't know if it's the batteries that HTC uses in their devices or the amount of radios they cram in them, but something is causing battery life to drop the ball.
@adam.plante
"unlimited incoming,"
You mean most people in the US have to pay to receive calls?!
OMG. The Yota site for this phone says that it includes 2 YEARS of free access to the marketplace music catalog.
You see the thing is that phones get the promised battery life in airplane mode. How fucking usefull.
That would be cool if it could be tethered as a modem to a PC. WiMax just got introduced in town here, and it would be great to have cell and tethering service, could put $80 a month back in my pocket.
You can. WM has software to turn your wifi to an access point and share your data connection via wifi. It even has a way of doing it so your isp cant track how its being used, so you wont get annihilated with fees. Ive used it with Bell and didnt get any extra charges on my Touch Pro. I love software freedom.
@adam.plante ... your plan sucks.. call L&R and ask for more
canada's plans aren't so bad if you can negotiate: heres my Telus plan right now

It's not translated for the English part of the site, I think due to some strange reasons.
Piece of cake!

Agreed. I signed my contract last April and i managed to negotiate some great rates through customer service.
EPP voice plan (200 daytime minutes, evenings start at 6, unlimited weekends) - $17.30
Unlimited data, text, email, BB IM, voicemail and caller ID - $30
It should be just over $60 after tax and fees but Telus keeps only charging me $15 for unlimited data, text, email, BB IM, voicemail and caller ID. My past 4 bills have been $42 after tax and everything.
Does Windows Mobile actually run fast enough to make it useful yet? I love my Hermes but WinMo is the bane of my existance.
I love the potential of .Net CF but, god it's so slow :(... When my phone has to catch up with my texting, that's pretty bloody ppor
What rom are you running? I had a Hermes before it died, and I used CRC's 13.0 and it was fantastic, no texting lag, nothing.

I am quite sad my poor little Hermes died.. I used to be quite active there, see the stickys by me (Veyka)
Does this phone have better drivers then the htc toucpro(fuze) phones? Htc winmobile phone have bad and slow drivers for the hardware.
Да, не повезло тем людям которые живут не в россии... Жаль, но русским не нужен этот телефон! Непонимаю почему обделили американских людей.
