TSA-approved Solo CheckFast messenger bag caters to netbooks
So, you're tired of removing and replacing your netbook each and every time you waltz through an airport (or a different terminal at Sky Harbor International -- great planning there, Phoenix), but the current crop of TSA-friendly bags are simply too large for your tastes. Clearly, Solo has felt your pain, as the CheckFast Netbook messenger bag is only big enough to handle netbooks 11-inchers or smaller. Our good pals over at Gadling were able to take it for a spin, and even being avid travelers, they were mighty impressed. The build quality was top-shelf, there was plenty of extra storage room and the $35 price tag was found to be downright delectable. Still in need of a last-minute gift? You may have just found it.

They must mean terminal at Sky Harbor. Three of them and just shuttle buses between them.
Champers @ Dec 22nd 2008 5:55PM
Don't give Phoenix crap, our airport is fine.
Darren @ Dec 22nd 2008 6:07PM
Try arriving on United and departing on Delta. It's so fun!

Dude, you're going to run into problems like that at any airport. I had a Northwest flight canceled in Detriot and I had to shuttle to another terminal and go through security a second time to get on an American Airlines flight which I was flagged for a pat-down because according to their computer equipment I had purchased my ticket that day... I didn't blame Detroit's airport for the issue, I blamed the airlines. Quite harping on a very well put together airport. Not only that, but it's one of the few airports I've come across that doesn't want $10 for a day of internet when I'm only going to be there for 1-2 hours... Their WiFi is Free.

I actually like the Phoenix airport. I manage to not get lost there lol.
brian @ Dec 23rd 2008 4:03PM
@Kevin
actually no. I've been to 30 different airports this year and NEVER had to pass through security again to make a connection. Any airport requiring that is shittily designed.
prime @ Dec 22nd 2008 5:58PM
What are you complaining about Sky Harbor for? At least they have free WiFi...
Altervarks @ Dec 22nd 2008 6:06PM
I just use a portable DVD player case for my netbook....plenty of room for accessories and all. As for PHX I have never had a problem with it....except when they had my normal parking garage closed and i had to figure out how to get to the other side.

Ironically I twittered I was looking for a netbook bag/sling/backpack when you posted this. I'm looking for something kinda back pack sling style not too big. I want something like the Tom Bihn buzz but smaller and certainly not 125$. Anyone have any Ideas? Pretty much I a small single strap back pack.
eyEi @ Dec 22nd 2008 7:21PM
how about a brown paper bag?
pathogen @ Dec 22nd 2008 7:43PM
did you sign up just to make an asinine comment?
Tom @ Dec 22nd 2008 7:23PM
Right, someone is gonna have to explain these bags to me... I get that they can get you past security without them having to open your bag, but how do they do this? What is the physical difference between this and any other laptop shoulder bag?
ScOObyDoo @ Dec 22nd 2008 7:28PM
The rule is that NOTHING can be in front of or behind the laptop, no zipper, no pocket, no stitching. As long as it can lay flat with nothing blocking the x-ray, it's approved.
phanbouy fan fan @ Dec 22nd 2008 7:23PM
so, who's on the take with all this TSA-approved crap? the agency that probably does their recruiting at McDonalds. i say to TSA: approve this!
Adam kernes @ Dec 22nd 2008 7:47PM

I actually just got one at best buy. It definitely is quality, and the EEE 1000 fits perfectly.
Ian @ Dec 22nd 2008 11:31PM
Why is the "solution" to absurd security screening designing special bags and not designing better security protocols?
llorgam @ Jan 23rd 2009 9:46PM

Really, they have problems opening up bags?
Joe @ Dec 23rd 2008 5:13PM
Unless you want their sticky fingers handling your property, you need this bag!
Markarian @ Dec 23rd 2008 3:21PM
I just use a slim lycra sleeve for portable DVD players for my Aspire One and I was not asked to take it out at Seattle or Sacramento.
